STEELERS AND PANTHERS WIN

The Steelers and the Panthers picked up road wins yesterday to move on the next round of the playoffs, the road team won three out of four games this weekend. Next saturdays games have the Redskins at Seahawks and the Patriots at Broncos, sundays games have the Steelers at the Colts and the Panthers at the Bears. The Riverdogs woes continued in NY yesterday falling to Elimira 4-2, the Dogs are back at home wed night against Port Huron. The CH girls basketball team will travel to Matoaca tonight. I have have injured my right middle finger again, the injury happened yesterday in a backyard two hand touch football game at my aunts house when Keith threw a bad pass that shorthopped the ground and when I tried to catch the ball it bent my finger the wrong way. Al took some photos of the game so you might get to see some of them posted here on the blog. MICKEY

REDSKINS MOVE ON

The Washington Redskins defeated the Tampa Bay Bucs 17-10 to move on to the semi-finals of the NFC where they will play the Seattle Seahawks next saturday at 4:30pm. The Redskins only had 120 yards total offense in the game which is the lowest in NFL postseason history, it's a good thing the Skins defense showed up for the game. I have posted a few photos from the game from the AP, in the other playoff game yesterday the NE Patriots defeated the Jax Jaguars 28-3. Today the Carolina Panthers visit the NY Giants at 1pm and the Steelers visit Bengals at 4:30pm. The Virginia Cavs picked up an ACC win yesterday beating the Clemson Tigers 64-58 in Hooville. Last night at the RC the Riverdogs got beat again by the Muskegon Fury 4-1, the Dogs simply don not have enough offense. I think I finally have my new treadmill down now, my hamstrings are not hurting anymore and that make running on the treadmill much better. MICKEY

REDSKINS BACK IN THE PLAYOFFS

The Washington Redskins will begin there run to the Super Bowl this afternoon in Tampa again the Bucs. The Bucs are favored by 1.5 points in this game but I think the Skins will pull this one out. In my Super Bowl poll the Skins got 67% of the vote, the rest of the poll results are posted below, only 4 teams even received votes. The CH boys basketball team lost to Hopewell last night 81-66, the CH girls team was suppose to play Midlothian last night but the game was postponed because the officials didn't show up. The Richmond Riverdogs got pounded pretty good last night by the Muskegon Fury 6-2, the Dogs really were never in this one. They play Muskegon tonight again and the outcome could be worst tonight, there were three fights in the game, Muskegon Brett Angel fought Matt Goody twice with Angel getting a slight decision in both bouts. The photo today is of me back in the days when I thought I could be a placekicker, I even had hair back then. MICKEY

NEW VIRGINIA STATE SEAL

I got this new Virginia State Seal of UVA football message board and thought yall might like it. I am glad today is friday it just feels like it has been a long week here in CH. The CH girls basketball team defeated Hopewell last night 47-26 in CH, they will try to avenge a loss from earlier in the season tonight when they play Midlo at home. The CH boys team will travel to Hopewell tonight to face the Bluedevils. The Richmond Riverdogs are back in action tonight at the RC against the Muskegon Fury, the Fury have only lost 5 games all year and only 2 games on the road. I did see they put an early college football pool for next season and Texas is #1 if Vince Young returns, followed by Ohio ST and West Virginia, Georgia was 17th and UVA was not ranked in this poll. HOOK EM' HORNS

How bout those Texas Longhorns!!!! What a great game!! Finally an end to an over-rated USC team that beat up on nobodys like Va. Tech among others before finally meeting the buzzsaw known as Vince Young and his Longhorn team. This is awesome as it is my first time in 11 years any of my teams have won any title(Earnhardt 94 WCC, NYRangers 94). And we dont even wanna talk about those Steelers til this year(1979). It was great to see us shut down Bush and watch Leinart choke the end of the game away. Then his classless comments after the game about USC being a better team is just plain bull..or should I say BEVO!!! Keith I'll get Andrew a Texas #10 jersey so he wont get picked on in school. The real dynasty begins now..And for all those USC fans..What dynasty? You shared a title with LSU in 03,won in 04 and got beat in 05. Not a dynasty in my book. THE EYES OF TEXAS ARE UPON YOU!!Lets all sing together...Yeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!

does anyone else think that it is special that they had a guy baton twirler? and the worst part was he was better than the girls.

TEXAS STUNS USC

The Texas Longorns stunned USC scoring 15 points in the last 4 minutes of the game and ending USC's 34 game winning streak defeating the Trojans 41-38 in the Rose Bowl and winning the BCS Championship. Vince Young had a tremendous game for the Longhorns. I have to admit it didn't look good for Texas with 6 minutes to go in the game and missed the end of the game. The CH boys basketball team defeated Atlee last night 94-91, Vince White scored 31 in the victory for the Colonials. The CH girls team will be back in action tonight at home against the Hopewell Blue Devils. The Richmond Riverdogs traded JJ Wrobe and Rafiel Martynoski to Quad City for Evgeny Lazarev and Cody Doucette, Lazarev appears to be a pretty good player from all acounts on the messageboards and everybody sure thinks Richmond got the best of this trade, I guess we will just have to wait and see. HILLBILLY'S

keith, i added this photo of the people along the sugar bowl parade route. because joy and i actually had two west virginia fans stop and ask us if this was the parade route. there were people lining both sides of the street and cops telling everyone to stay on the sidewalks. i guess the big city confused them.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON ENDS TONIGHT

This years college football season will end tonight with the playing of the Rose Bowl with Texas meeting USC for the BCS championship. Last night in case some you missed it Penn St defeated Fla St 26-23 in third overtime, I didn't stay up to watch the finish. The CH girls basketball team defeated Prince George last night 73-67, the CH jv girls team won also. The boys team lead most of the way against Prince George before falling 72-65 in the 4th quarter, the boys team will play at Atlee tonight. Scott did you take any photos of your trip to Atlanta this weekend. The Super Bowl poll will end friday, I will post the results on saturday morning. MICKEY

There is Stilltime to Jump on the Longhorn Bandwagon!!

It is the day before the big BCS title game in Pasadena between our beloved Texas Longhorns and those hated Trojans of USC. So there is still time for you non-believers to jump on the bandwagon and say you were a fan way back when they hadn't won the NCAA title. My final score prediction is Texas 35-24. Wouldnt mind seeing others predictions too. As long as you pick the right team to win. HOOK EM' HORNS!!!!!

GEORGIA FALLS TO WEST VIRGINIA

The Georgia Bulldogs lost a tough won last night falling to West Virginia 38-35 in the Sugar Bowl. It appeared the Bulldogs were going to get the ball back with about 2 minutes to go but West Virginia ran a fake punt and keep the ball and were able to run out the clock. Also yesterday the Va Tech Hokies defeated Louisville 35-24 in the Gator Bowl. The UVA basketball team lost on the road last night to Western Kentucky 78-68, it looks like it is going to be anotther long season in the ACC for the Cavs basketball team. Both the CH girls and boys basketball teams return to action tonight with boys playing Prince George at home and the girls traveling to Prince George. If you haven't voted in the Super Bowl poll on the blog just go down a few topics and do so. It looks like today is going to be a better day weather wise here in CH, yesterday it was cold and wet. REDSKINS MAKE PLAYOFFS, DOGS BLOW ANOTHE ONE

The Washington Redskins are back in the playoffs with a 31-20 victiry over the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday, the Skins will play at Tampa Bay on saturday. The GB Packers got a meaningless win yesterday defeating the Seatle Seahawks 23-17, the Seahwks rested right many of there starters after the 1st quarter. The Richmond Riverdogs blew a 2-0 lead the worst team in the league falling to Elmira 3-2 at the RC, it doesn't get any easier for the Dogs this weekend when Muskegon come to Richmond for two games, the Fury are the best team in the league. Also to today Georgia plays West Virginia in the Sugar Bowl at 8:30pm at the Georgia Dome. Clolonial Heights schools are back in business today so mom and Donna don't forget to back to work today. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2006

Well I thought I would wish all my fellow bloggers HAPPY NEW YEAR. I did not stay up to see the new year come in though, I figured I would just wait till morning to welcome the year in. The two photos are of clebration as the new year came in from AP news. The Redskins can clinch a plyoff spot today with a win over the Philadelphia Eagles, if they lose this game they would have tp hope for Dallas to lose to the Rams tonight to get into the postseason. The Riverdogs blew a 3-1 lead going into the 3rd period last night and lost 5-4 to Danbury in a SO, the Dogs will be back at home this afternoon against Elmira. Well I guess I will go get ready to run on the treadmill. MICKEY

SUGAR BOWL !!

WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO SEE THE BULLDAWGS PLAY!

UVA WINS MUSIC CITY BOWL

The Virginia Cavaliers ended there 2005 football season with a 34-31 win over Minnesota in the Music City Bowl, it was a up and down season for the Cavs but it is always good to go out on a winning note. The big question for the Cavs next year is at QB, who is going to play it. The Riverdogs got pounded last last night at the RC 6-2 by Danbury, the Dogs fell behind 3-0 in the first 10 minutes and always seemed to be about 2 steps behind Danbury all night. The CH girls basketball team lost to Collegiate 50-41 in the finals of the Collegiate tournamnet, both the girls and boys will be back in action next week. I have been going thru some old photos we have at the house and I am posting one from a few years ago at Christmas time. MICKEY
