COLLEGE FOOTBALL JUST AROUND THE CORNER
Well college football is just around the corner with most teams opening up there season two weeks from today but there are few teams who open up a bit earlier. The CH football team had a scrimmage last night with Amelia and played pretty well, next week they will scrimmage Nottoway. At the beach last night First Flight beat Northside Pinetown 16-0, Currituck beat Manteo 3-0 and it was North Stokes 33 Cape Hatteras 0. Jeff Gordon captured the pole for this weeks Nascar stop at Michigan, I guess he is trying to make up for his late race spin last week which cost him the race. Fellow blogger Keith & the rest of family are heading up to Pennsylvania this weekend to visit some of Maureen's family and they hare also going to go to Hershey Park , I hope they don't eat to much chocolate. Also fellow blogger Glenn is heading to beach this morning. Scott if somebody sends you something in the mail saying you won big in the lottery don't believe them, there seems to be a lottery scam going on down in Crawford County. If I only had some pots and pans I could do some cooking. I did go to Wal-Mart this morning and I thought they were having a sale or something, there just seemed like there were a whole lot more people down there this morning than usual. Also my shoulder is hurting from taking all the tape of the new appliances. MICKEY
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
Eleanor Roosevelt
1587 Virginia Dare became the first child of English parents to be born on American soil, on what is now Roanoke Island, N.C.
1894 Congress established the Bureau of Immigration.
1969 The Woodstock Music and Art Fair near Bethel, N.Y., concluded with a mid-morning set by Jimi Hendrix.
1983 Hurricane Alicia slammed into the Texas coast, leaving 22 dead and causing more than $1 billion damage.
SLEEP TIP
Go to bed and get up at about the same time every day, even on the weekends. Sticking to a schedule helps reinforce your body's sleep-wake cycle and can help you fall asleep better at night.
