104 HERE IN CH YESTERDAY

Well we set a new record for the high temp yesterday as the thermometer climbed to 104 degrees shattering the old record of 101. It looks like today will be the last day of the excessive heat for a while, it may reach 100 today before dropping into the low 90's for the next several days. Ho would ever though that the 90's would be considered colling off. Scott what has the high temperature been in Georgia the lat few days. I went over to Donna & Al's house for supper last night, we had hamburgers and as far as I could tell there were not any luck hamburgers last night. The CH Optimist team moved to the semi-finals of the 50th anniversary of BIB tournament last night with a 6-3 win over Staunton, they will play the CBC Nationals on Friday night at 8:30pm. There was no progress made here at the house yesterday in the construction progress, maybe they will be by today. Due to the excessive heat yesterday I did run on the treadmill yesterday, it was only 101 in the shed. Also it has com to my attention that a fellow blogger was seen trying to break into his own car on Saturday with some sort of device, this blogger lives very close to the blog master, maybe we can get the story of what really happened. MICKEY

1831 - The first steam locomotive train began its inaugural run, between Albany and Schenectady, in New York.
1910 - Alva J. Fisher of Chicago, IL received a patent for an invention that moms, grandmas and single guys certainly came to appreciate: the electric washing machine. Previous to Mr. Fisher’s invention, washing machines were cranked by hand (not easily done) -- or you used a washboard (also sometimes used as a musical instrument).
1936 - Jesse Owens became the first American to win four medals in one Olympics. Owens ran one leg of the winning 400-meter relay team in Berlin. His three other gold medals were won in the 100-meter, 200-meter and the long jump events.
1971 - LeRoy Satchel Paige, one of baseball’s pitching legends, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

Imagine the Best
How many times have the obstacles standing in your way been primarily a creation of your own imagination? Have you ever convinced yourself that you cannot possibly do something, and then later discovered that you can indeed do it? Consider that many of the limitations which you live with each day may very well be self imposed. Certainly there are very real and formidable challenges which you face. Be careful not to add to them with your own imagined obstacles. Your imagination is best used to imagine your positive possibilities. Your mind and your imagination are totally under your own control, so use them for to your benefit. Let your imagination enrich your life rather than impede it. Imagine the best for yourself and your world. What you can imagine, you can become. That is an incredible power. Be sure it's pointed in a positive direction.
