COLONIALS WIN, UPSETS IN THE NCAA, HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

The Colonial Heights Colonials baseball team improved to 2-0 on the season last night with a 3-1 win over Manchester.  The Colonials got a tremendous pitching effort from Mack Krupp who threw a complete game striking out 12 and a couple of key hits from David Markins and Matt Hettinger in the win.  The Colonials next game will be Thursday at Thomas Dale which will be the Central District opener for both teams.  The Virginia baseball will open up a 3 game series at Florida State today.  There were some huge upsets in yesterdays NCAA basketball tournament but unfortunately the Virginia Cavaliers where not 1 of them.  The Cavs got crushed by Florida yesterday 71-45, the Cavs played it pretty close for about 15 minutes before Florida just dominated the rest of the game.  There were 2 huge upsets with #2 teams falling, I have to give a big hats off to the Norfolk State Spartans who beat Missouri 86-84 shocking the Tigers.  The biggest surprise of the tournament though has to be Lehigh just stunning Duke last night 75-70 and I am sure allot of people in the Elite 8 if not the Final Four.  The VCU Rams will be looking to continue the NCAA tournament run tonight when they face the Indiana Hoosiers in Portland, Oregon where Hoosiers 6 point favorites but the Rams like playing the underdog role.  Greg Biffle captured the pole for this weekends Nascar race at Bristol edging A.J. Allmendinger for the top spot, the Nationwide series will race today Bristol.  Well I hope everybody has a HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY, and hopefully some of the luck of the Irish will go the VCU Rams way tonight.  MICKEY
