IT'S FRIDAY AGAIN

For some reason this week has flown by which is fine with me and it's Friday again. It is going to be pretty hot today and tomorrow with a high of 92 today and 97 on Saturday before it cools into the upper 80's on Sunday. Our Appomattox League baseball team split with Wakefield last night, we lost th 1st game 7-4 and won the 2nd game 3-0. It was a very muggy night for baseball but it didn't rain, it looked like all the rain stayed to the east of CH. At the CWS last night Arizona State beat North Carolina 12-5 eliminating UNC. At the CWS today Arkansas will face LSU and the Razorbacks will have to beat the Tigers to advance to the CWS Finals. The Nascar Sprint Cup Series will be in Sonoma California this weekend for the 1st road race of the season, I used to like the road races but know as far as I am concerned they can do away with them. It wont be long now before vacation starts. MICKEY

The closer a food is to its natural state, the better it is for you. Fresh fruits and berries are great and will satisfy a craving for sweets. Whole vegetables have lots of vitamins and minerals, so eat more green, orange and yellow vegetables. Steam them to retain the most nutritional value and be careful with sauces, they may be high in calories and fats that aren't good for you.

Any pasta or baked goods should be made from whole grains. Avoid sugary snacks and pastries as well. An apple is good for you, an apple pie really isn't.
