ME MA EVELYLN TO HAVE SURGERY TODAY, VIRGINIA BASEBALL TEAM NOW 9-0

Well it seems like allot of family members have spent time in the hospital lately. Today Me Ma Evelyn will have a procedure done on her at Chippenham Hospital, they will probably keep her overnight so keep her in you thoughts today. The Virginia Cavalier baseball team is now 9-0 after pummeling George Washington yesterday 17-4, the Cavaliers will open ACC play this weekend at Wake Forest. There will be a Save Our Gades Rally tonight in Richmond, the rally is designed to get the word out about the final 3 home games of the season which will likely determine the future of the team. The Renegades traded one of there most popular players yesterday sending Dennis Sicard to Huntsville, I don't think this will go over to well most of the Renegades fans. Well I threw some more BP yesterday but surprisingly my arm is feeling pretty good this morning and with the warm weather coming this weekend it will probably be feeling better for the weekend. Hopefully all the warm weather forcasted for the next few days will get all this snow out of here and dry out the ground so we can at least get a full week of practice in before our 1st game next week. It's already about 10 degrees warmer this morning than it was yesterday at this time. MICKEY

VIRGINIA FALLS APART IN 2ND HALF, IT'S STILL COLD

After trailing 32-31 last night Clemson the Cavaliers fell apart in the 2nd half losing to the Tigers 75-57, the Cavaliers just can't seem to play a complete game. The Cavaliers have on game left in the regular season and that is a home game with Maryland on Saturday before entering next weeks ACC basketball tournament next week. It is still quite cold here in Colonial Heights this morning, as I write this entry to the blog the temp is 13.9. There is some light at the end of the tunnel though by Friday it will be in the mid 60's and on Saturday it will be in the 70's. The CH baseball team did hit in the cage yesterday and will do so today as well, we might be able to return to the field at the stadium by Monday. There is a pretty good chance that this Saturdays baseball scrimmage with Henrico maybe move to Henrico from CH. My PAIN index remains a bit elevated this morning from shoveling snow on Monday and throwing BP yesterday. MICKEY

IT IS COLD OUT THERE, A COUPLE OF GEORGIA BIRTHDAYS

All I ave to say is that it is very cold out there this morning and it's not going to make it to make it to the freezing mark today so you had better dress accordingly. There are a couple of Georgia birthdays today, it is Dusty's birthday and it is Junie Woodfin's birthday as well so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the both of them. Well school is out out here in the central Virginia area for just about all of the school systems in the area, I think that CH will be heading back to school on Wednesday. Auntie (Mavis) surgery went well yesterday and she will probably be heading home later today. My PAIN index has gone up this morning because my neck and shoulders are bit sore from shoveling snow yesterday morning. The Virginia basketball team will be on the road at Clemson tonight and I think it could a long night for the Cavs since they upset Clemson at UVA a few weeks ago. Well I am off to work. MICKEY

IT'S A SNOW DAY

Well it appears that most of you fellow bloggers in Virginia have the day off, I know that I am off but Al might still be working. I haven't been out in the snow this morning but just looking out the window it appears that we have about 3 inches of snow here in Colonial Heights. It looks like the snow will stop here in CH in the next couple of hours however it is going to be very cold and windy the rest if the day with high around freezing and its not going to make it to but 36 tomorrow. This snow is not good at all for baseball practice because we probably won't be able to get back on the field until sometime next week and we have regular season game next Friday and we need to practice. Kyle Busch won yesterdays Nascar race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway which is also his hometown track, next weeks race will be down in Scott's neck of the woods in Hampton, Georgia. I just checked the Virginia Power website and there are about 125,000 people in state without power, I wouldn't want to be working for the power company on a day like this. Also this morning Mavis is scheduled for surgery at Henrico Doctors Hospital so keep her in your thoughts today. MICKEY

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT, VCU WINS THE CAA AGAIN

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Colonial Heights, Virginia from 6pm tonight till Noon on Monday for the possibility of 3-6 inches of snow. I will believe it when I see it but I have to say it looks like school might be closed on Monday. The last thing our baseball team needs right now is a week without practice. I have to say that yesterdays baseball scrimmage didn't go to well for the Colonials, lets just say that Monacan scored a whole lot more than we did and our biggest problem was way to many walks. It was a miserable day for baseball but it didn't seem to bother Monacan to much. Thomas Dale faired much better yesterday in there scrimmage knocking off Cosby. The VCU Rams won there 3rd straight CAA Championship yesterday beating Georgia State 69-41, now lets hope the Rams can win the CAA tournament which starts laster this week. The Virginia basketball team lost to Wake Forest 70-60, the Cavs fell apart again late in the game. The Virginia baseball team is now 8-0 after beating Fordham 7-3 yesterday, the Cavs are suppose to play Delaware at noon today weather permitting. The Richmond Renegades fell on the road again last night in Columbus to the Cottonmouths 5-4, the Gades didn't decide they wanted to play until the 3rd period and they were already trailing 5-1. Todays Nascar race is at Las Vegas with Kyle Busch on the pole. MICKEY
