RENEGADES WIN, RENEGADES WIN

The Richmond Renegades ended there five game losing streak last night at the RC knocking off the Fayetteville FireAntz 5-4 on the night they retired Trevor Senn's #25 sweater. The Gades were lead by Brett Needham who had three goals and one assist on the night, the Gades will be back at home tonight against the Columbus Cottonmouths. In college football bowl action yesterday the ACC went 1-1 with Boston College picking up a 24-21 win over Michigan State and Maryland fell to Oregon State 21-14. In the NFL tonight the New England Patriots will try to finish out a perfect regular season with a victory over the NY Giants at the Meadowlands. We got some more rain here in CH last night and this morning and they are calling more rain again tomorrow as well, it's a good thing it's not cold enough for snow because we would have been snowed in by now. My foot continues to be pretty sore, the pain still is no where near as bad as it was back in late November though. I did make it down to Wal-Mart this morning and it was pretty quite down there this morning, no where near as many people as last week for sure. I tried to get fellow blogger Les to go down there this morning with me but he said if wasn't standing at the curb when I went by his house to go on without him. MICKEY

Remember that if the opportunities for great deeds should never come, the opportunities for good deeds are renewed day by day. The thing for us to long for is the goodness, not the glory.

Health and Diet Tip
How much water should we drink? The recommended water intake is eight 8-ounce glasses per day. Water is needed for almost every bodily function -- it aids digestion, absorption, circulation, distribution of nutrients and excretion. Water helps maintain our body temperature and is necessary for carrying out waste. Try including water with your meals – a great way to avoid some extra calories and hydrate your body at the same time.

The best
The best athletes don't care about whether or not they're the best. What they care about is the game.

The best actors, musicians, doctors, scientists, teachers and businesspeople are not consumed with being the best. They're consumed with a passion for what they're doing.

If your desire is to be the best merely for its own sake, you will strive and struggle against a world that absolutely does not care. If, on the other hand, your most abiding desire is to make a positive difference, you will surely end up being the best at some particular thing or another.

The real substance of accomplishment is never in the trophies or the praise or the recognition it brings. The substance of accomplishment is in the value it delivers.

The best performers in any field are not the ones who hope to be the best or even the ones who already think they are. The best performers are those who never have to even think about where they stand in the rankings.

Commit yourself to delivering value, and you won't be burdened with the need to keep score. Indeed, you will always be on top of the game.
-- Ralph Marston
