LAST DAY OF MAY
I don't know about you but I can't believe that today is the last day of May, it just doesn't seems like it to me. Before long all the schools will be out here in CH and there will be a few happy bloggers around here. I talked to Scott last night and he has got is truck back but he still isn't satisfied with what they did, they did fix the problem he had this weekend but know his truck is pulling to the right and they are blaming his new rims for that. Needless to say he isn't very happy about it. Scott is also not very happy with Ford dealership in Dublin, Ga who couldn't rent him a vehicle after his truck broke down but he was very happy with the Toyota dealership in Dublin who rented him a Toyota Tundra in Dublin. After supper last night we rode by fellow bloggers Mark and Marys new house and it looks like it is just about done, maybe Mark can give us an update when it's going to be finished. In the Stanley Cup Finals last night Anaheim beat Ottawa 1-0 and now lead the series 2-0. Since there is not much going on today I thought I would post another old photo from the past of few fellow blogger posing for picture on the front porch of the Barnes cottage in Nags Head, I think you can tell who everybody is in the photo. It looks like I might jump of the front porch, I just hope nobody has to use that life preserver hanging on the front porch. MICKEY

A TOUGH NIGHT FOR THE COLONIALS & KNIGHTS
The Colonial Heights girls and boys soccer teams both lost last night in Central Region playoffs. The girls team lost to James River 2-1 and the boys team fell to Hanover 2-0, I have posted a link below to some photos Al took at the girls game last night. In baseball action the Thomas Dale Knights fell to James River 9-4, the Rapids hit 3 HR'S in the game and the Knights just weren't able to overcome that. The other team from the CD in the baseball playoffs Dinwiddie also lost last night to Cosby 12-3. Overall the only teams to win from the CD in softball, baseball, and girls & boys soccer was the Thomas Dale boys and girls soccer teams, it was just a tough night for the CD. The Stanley Cup Finals resume tonight with game 2 of the series with Anaheim holding a 1-0 series lead. My AIP index is a bit higher today because my back is a little sore. Well I am off to work. RIDDLE
I'm back today. No one got the riddle on Friday. I guess everyone was enjoying their Memorial Day weekend . I thought it was easy and someone would get the answer. At least one of them.
ANSWER:What do you call a man who doesn't sink?

If you look close you can see our beach raccoon coming by for Memorial Day. It walked right by the beach cat to eat the cat's food. I guess they are friends.
This is a different picture from the beach. This is what I can see outside my beach house . If you look close you can see the monument between the wings of the Wright brothers plane. I will have to get Al to take a better picture.
HIGH SCHOOL PLAYOFFS RESUME TODAY
The Colonial Heights girls and boys soccer teams will be back in action today, the CH girls team will visit James River at 5:30pm to play the Rapids while the CH boys team will travel to Hanover to play the Hawks at 7pm. In baseball action today the Thomas Dale Knights will be playing at James River at 4:30pm, James River doesn't have lights thats why they are playing early. The other baseball team from the Central District Dinwiddie will be hosting Cosby tonight at 7pm. I am going to try to make it over to James River see TD play baseball and catch some the CH girls soccer game as well, it just depends on what time I get off work. The Stanley Cup Finals started last night with Anaheim picking up a 3-2 victory over Ottawa, the Ducks lead the series 1-0. We did get some much needed rain here in CH last night, all though it wasn't that much it was better than nothing, Georgia sure could use allot of rain. This past holiday weekend was good for the most part, except for getting a flat tire yesterday the weather was nice and it really wasn't to crowded at the beach. Also fellow bloggers Keith and Scott are back from there weekend trips, maybe they can give us a trip report form the Georgia coast and New York. I am off to work. MICKEY

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY
I hope everybody has a safe and good Memorial Day. My day didn't get off to the best of starts this morning. I left the beach around 6am so I could get home early and cut the grass and do some other things or at least thats what I thought I was going to do. I did leave at 6am but on the way home in Moyock, NC I got a flat tire and I had to call AAA to come an fix it which set my day back about 2 1/2 hours. Needless to say I wasn't a very happy camper when that happened. Well I have made it home now and I getting ready to go out and cut the grass. Casey Mears won last nights Nextel Cup race which was his 1st Nextel Cup win in his career, I was glad to see him win but I was kind of hoping that Kyle Petty might have pulled off the victory but 3rd isn't to bad for Kyle. The Virginia Cavalier baseball team will host a NCAA regional next weekend, the Cavs will face Lafayette in the 1st round. The Cavs regional is extremely tough with the defending NCAA baseball champs Oregon St in it as well as Rutgers. East Carolina and VCU also made the field as well, ECU will play Western Carolina at UNC and VCU will play Coastal Carolina at Coastal Carolina. MICKEY

1,100-lb. Feral Hog Shot in Fayette Co.
When a 9-foot-long, 1,100-lb. hog was killed in Fayette County it became a story that spread like wildfire — literally going around the world on the internet and in the media. CNN, Fox-5 News, the local papers, radio stations from Seattle and Los Angeles to Jacksonville, and the Discovery Channel contqacted Bill, and even the British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) called from London to get the details on a hog being touted as a new world record.
“Unfortunately, I don’t have a great hunting story,” said Bill Coursey of Fayetteville, who shot the hog in a neighbor’s yard.
Thursday afternoon, January 4, at about 3:30 Bill’s wife and son were driving home in rural Fayette County when they saw the huge black hog standing in a neighbor’s yard. The hog had come out of a field, crossed the road and was munching on water-oak acorns. They pulled into the driveway for a closer look.
UVA FALLS IN ACC BASEBALL
The Virginia Cavaliers fell to the North Carolina Tar Heels 5-0 in ACC tournament action yesterday with the loss the Cavs will head back to Charlottesville and get ready for the start of the NCAA baseball tournament which starts next week. North Carolina will play Wake Forest in the championship game of the ACC baseball tournament today. The East Carolina Pirates will have shot at CUSA baseball championship this afternoon, the only problem is they have to face college baseball #1 team Rice, the NCAA will announce the field for this years college baseball tournament on Monday. Today is the biggest racing day of the year here in the US with the running of the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca Cola 600, in this years Indy 500m there will be three women in field, I have enclosed a photo from all three of them that I got from the WWW. Kasey Kahne won last night Busch race at Charlotte at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. The weather here at the beach has been very nice, highs in the lower 80's with very little humidity. Keith, Andrew, and Maureen are heading to New York City today to see a show on Broadway. Well since CH girls soccer team is playing at James River Tuesday maybe I will be able to see some of the TD baseball game and the CH girls soccer as well since they will be playing at the same place, hopefully I can get off in time to get over there. Well I have to go exercise so I can go to The Dunes and eat the lunch buffet. MICKEY

#5 MAKES REGIONAL "1ST" TEAM
I AM AT THE BEACH
Well I have made down to the beach, I left CH about 5am this morning and arrived about 8am. The sun is out and it does look like there are allot of people here at the beach, traffic wasn't to bad this morning though. The Virginia Cavaliers will face the UNC Tar Heels today in the ACC baseball tournament with the winner advancing to the championship game, game time is 1pm and the game is on Comcast Sportsnet. Ryan Newman won the pole for this weeks race at the Lowe's Motor Speedway, his teammate Kurt Busch will join him on the front row Sundays race in Charlotte. In case you didn't see Keith's comments yesterday Thomas Dale will play at James River Tuesday at 4:30pm in the baseball regionals. The CH girls soccer team will also be playing that day as well but I don't know where they will be playing at, maybe AL can fill is on that. I have posted a photo that I found on the AP Wire of a wild pig that weighed 1051 pounds that 11 year old boy killed in Alabama, that breaks the record of a wild pig that was killed in Georgia in 2004 that was named Hogzilla. Well I am going out for run. MICKEY
