APPOMATTOX LEAGUE FINALS TONIGHT, IT'S FRIDAY

Well tonight at 7pm we will play in the Appomattox League Finals against the Matoaca Red team at Prince George. Hopefully both team will have enough players to play, between vacations and several AAU tournaments both teams are going to be strapped for players. Well I sure am glad that it is Friday, this weeks has dragged out a bit and I am tired. The Nascar Sprint Cup Series will be racing at the Brickyard this weekend, hopefully Goodyear has solved the tire problems which plagued last years race. Last night fellow blogger Lee stopped by for a visit to give us some of his knowledge, Lee is working in getting his college apartment ready. It won't be to long before college starts back up, speaking of starting up Scottie goes back to high school next Friday down in Georgia. MICKEY

Don't be First or Last
Admittedly, I'm not often at my best first thing in the morning. It takes me some time to get warmed up and focused on the task at hand. Of the 12 barbers and stylists in my shop, about half are just like me. Such is the case, I try to schedule haircuts with a higher degree of difficulty later in the day. On the flip side, a stylist can often be tired after eight hours of standing behind the chair and will have more difficulty focusing at the end of the day.

My advice? Make an appointment in the middle of the day. This is also a good idea because many salons are slower and your stylist will likely have more time to spend with you. Finally, never attempt to "squeeze in" at the end of the day. Showing up five minutes before a salon closes will almost always guarantee a rush job. Remember, barbers and stylists enjoy leaving work on time, too.

YESTERDAY SURE WAS A LONG DAY

Well I have to say say yesterday was a very long day to say the least. It all started with me having to leave about 25 minutes early for work yesterday because of a wreck on I-95 and it ended with a very long Appomattox League baseball game last night and at work I stayed in the warehouse all day which made it a very long day as well. In our baseball game last night we only got 1 hit in the game and won the game 12-11 after trailing 9-1 in the 3rd inning over Prince George, with the win we have advanced to the championship game tomorrow night at 7pm against Matoaca at Prince George. In last nights game there were about 30 walks between the 2 teams which made it a very long game which lasted over three hours. I sure din't get much sleep last night and now I am off to work and I am tired, hopefully today I will be able to go out on a truck today if not I am going to be feeling pretty bad tonight. MICKEY

Sorry about the riddle yesterday. Marilyn called me and said she was taking Mom to hospital because she was hurting so much. They checked her out with a scan and x-ray and everything looked good. The doctor thinks it's muscle pain. He suggested more therapy on upper body. Wednesday is her last day for therapy.

CH PICKS UP APPOMATTOX LEAGUE PLAYOFF WIN

Things didn't off to a good start last night for our Appomattox League team we fell behind 6-0 to the Matoaca Gold team in 1st round of the playoffs before rallying to a 17-7 win. We now will play at 8pm tomorrow night against either Prince George or Hopewell at Prince George, I am sure that I will be very tired on Thursday morning when I am heading to work. I threw a little BP last night so my arm is a bit sore this morning and my back is a little sore this morning as well from working yesterday. My truck is in the shop this morning for an oil change and inspection so I will be driving the Lincoln to work today. MICKEY

APPOMATTOX LEAGUE LEAGUE PLAYOFFS BEGAN TONIGHT

Well the Appomattox League baseball playoffs began tonight for us at Shepherd Stadium when we face the Matoaca Gold team at 7pm. The other team in the league from Colonial Heights will travel to Matoaca to face the Matoaca Red team, that Matoaca team has not lost a game all year. Well me and dad made it back from the beach last night just before 6pm, we ate at the High Cotton BBQ yesterday and I have to say that it was very good. Last night I went to bed a little earlier than normal but I didn't sleep very well because Brady was moaning and groaning all night. At the beach the last two night he slept like a rock but for some reason last night he was very restless. Well I am getting to start my 2nd week at my new job, I hope some of those heavy boxes feel a little lighter this week but I doubt it. MICKEY

HEADING BACK HOME

Well me and dad will be heading back home later today from KDH, I wish I could stay another week but I have come and go back to work. It looks like there are not as many people here that been here the last few weeks. There was a backup for a few hours on the bridge coming in yesterday but no where near as bad as it has been the last few weeks. We went to the Black Pelican for supper last night and I got the prime rib and it was very good, I think dad go the mixed grill and he said it was good also. I don't think I am going bike ride this morning, yesterday it was a bit muddy over in Nags Head Woods, I think that I will just go for a run. MICKEY

I AM AT THE BEACH

After a grueling week on my new job I decided I needed to go to the beach for some R & R. Me and dad came down last night and got here around 8:30 or so. It's a bit cloudy this morning here at the beach and we got a t-storm last night after we got here, the temp is in the mid 70's and its suppose to climb into the 80's later. I think that I am going to go on a bike ride over in Nags Heads Woods here in a little bit, Scott I will be thinking about you when I am on this ride. I AM SORE ALL OVER

I sure am glad that it is Friday because I need 2 days to recover, I am sore all over from doing so much lifting this week. It really didn't start to hit me to bad until last night but I pretty sore all over, yesterday I didn't get home until around 5:40 and I was pretty tired then. Well I am going to head down to the beach tonight with dad from some R & R and will be coming back sometime Sunday. COULD UKROP'S BE FOR SALE?

There have been all kinds of reports that Ukrop's Super Markets are for sale and the front runner to purchase the chain is the North Carolina based Harris Teeter Super Market chain. Its hard to believe that the chain has been struggling in recent years but Wal-Mart, Food Lion, Kroger and even drug stores such as Walgreen's have been cutting into there sales. I think if they do sell Harris Teeter would be a good fit. It's going to be 95 today and the humidity is going to be up as well, there is a chance of t-storms this afternoon as well. On Friday there is a chance of some very strong storms as cold front approaches and even the possibility of tornadoes. I am a bit sore this morning because I picked a few to many boxes that weighed more than 80# yesterday. MICKEY

WE WON LAST NIGHTS GAME

Well we finished the Appomattox League regular season last night with a 7-5 win over CH's other team. Now we will have to wait for some of the other teams in the league to finish out there season the next few days to see who we will play in the playoffs which began next week. The American League won last nights Major League All Star game 4-3 over the NL. It looks like it is going to be pretty hot the next few days before it cools off a bit for the weekend, we also could pick up a few afternoon t-storms as well. MICKEY

A TOUGH NIGHT IN APPOMATTOX LEAGUE ACTION

It was a very tough night in Appomattox League action last night for our team at Matoaca. We lost the 1st game 11-1 and we lost the 2nd game 9-8 after leading the game 8-1 after 2 innings. We will finish out the regular season tonight against out other team at the high school. Well my 1st day of work at my new employer went ok, it is different from my other job so the jury is still out whether I am going to like this job or not. I do have quite a few muscles which are very sore this morning. My blog entries in the future may be shorter because I have to leave for work a bit earlier now. MICKEY

Why is yawning contagious?
