COLONIALS, KNIGHTS AND CAVALIERS ALL LOSE

The Colonial Heights Colonials played a much better game defensively yesterday against Clover Hill but the offensively the Colonials were no hit in a 7-0 loss to the Cavaliers, th Colonials are now off until Tuesday when Meadowbrook visits Colonial Heights. The Thomas Dale Knights lost to Manchester 6-3, the Knights hit 3 solo HR's in the game. The Virginia Cavaliers lost to Stony Brook yesterday 6-2, they need to win these games if they want to host a NCAA baseball regional this year. After being off for the last day and a half I am heading back to work today so my PAIN index may be on the rise by tomorrow. The New York Rangers need to win tonight or Sunday against Philadelphia to guarantee them a spot in this years NHL playoffs, they could still get in if they lose both but they would have to have some help from some other people. Respect the time. You should slow down the conversation between you and your doctor if you feel it's moving too fast. Politely ask you doctor to slow down because you need to understand. Keep off-topic conversations to a minimum. Remember, your doctor has more patients waiting to see him.

This is your opportunity to taste life's sweetness more fully than ever before. This is your moment to make a positive difference that will forever add value and meaning to the universe.

COLONIALS BACK IN ACTION TODAY

The Colonial Heights Colonials baseball team will be back in action this morning at 10am against a very good Manchester team. Manchester has not lost a game all season and are tied for 1st place in the Dominion District with Cosby. The Thomas Dale Knights will also be in action today as well in the same tournament and they will be facing J.R. Tucker. The Virginia baseball team rallied for a 7-4 win over Maryland last night, they will continue there series with Maryland today. The NCAA basketball tournament will resume today with Michigan Stat facing Connecticut and Villanova facing North Carolina with the winners advancing to the championship game on Monday. David Reutimann captured the pole for this weekends race at the Texas Motor Speedway, points leader Jeff Gordon will start on the outside pole. The NHL season ends next Sunday and if the Rangers want to make the playoffs they need to start playing better soon, right now they are in the 8th a final spot to make the playoffs but they are only 2 points ahead of Florida who is in the 9th spot. My PAIN remains the same this morning, my knee is still sore and my arm is a bit sore from throwing a bit last night as well. It also appears fellow blogger Scott is going to have a busy day as he takes Dusty over to Gordon College to look at the campus, he may be going there next year. In case anybody wanted know they are known as the Gordon College Highlanders, I have posted a photo of there mascot. Have a nice day. MICKEY

Heart Disease
Transfats (produced when vegetable oils are artificially hardened to produce margarine) have been linked to heart disease. Fast foods are often high in transfats.

Diets Aren't the Answer
I've said it before and it bears repeating: Making small changes in your diet every day is the easiest way to successfully change bad eating habits. Focusing on one thing at a time, one day at a time, will ease the pressure and allow you to ease your way into a new healthy lifestyle.

Celebrate the consequences
Do you pay a price for your actions, or do you reap great rewards from them? Do you fear the consequences of what you do, or do you eagerly await those consequences?
It all depends on the actions you take. The destination at which you arrive is determined by the direction in which you most consistently travel.

Instead of cursing the negative consequences, simply avoid the actions that cause them. Instead of wistfully wishing in vain for the things you seek, just take the actions that will bring those things into your life.

Everything in your life is the result of one thing or another. You can't avoid consequences, yet you can determine which ones you get.

Put yourself in a position to celebrate the consequences. With positive purpose, focus, effort and persistence the very best of life's results can be yours.

Most of what happens to you happens because of you. Use your actions to move solidly toward those consequences that you'll delight in celebrating.

THOMAS DALE KNOCKS OF THE COLONIALS 13-8

The Colonials baseball team cam out swinging yesterday jumping out to 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning yesterday at Thomas Dale only to have the Knights score 5 in the bottom of the 1st inning. There were a couple of highlights for the Colonials yesterday offensively, Derek Mears 2-3 with HR 4RBI's and B.J. Solomon went 2-4 with a HR 3RBI's. It doesn't get any easier for the Colonials tomorrow when we face Manchester the #1 team in the Central Region and on of the best teams in the state. The CH girls soccer team tied Thomas Dale 2-2 last night while the boys soccer team lost 5-1 at TD. The softball team also fell at Thomas Dale 7-0. The Virginia baseball team will open a series with Maryland today weather permitting. The Nascar Sprint Cup Series will be at the Texas Motor Speedway. It is going to be warm today here in CH with highs in the mid 70's but there is a pretty good chance of rain today as well. Health Benefits of Potatoes
Potatoes are one of the most popular vegetables because they are nutritious, easy to prepare, and very versatile. They’re rich in complex carbohydrates that can supply energy, but not all that high in calories. One medium-sized potato (about 3 inches in diameter) has about 150 calories. That same potato has about 5 grams of fiber, which is important for a healthy digestive tract. They’re also a healthy source of vitamins and minerals.

Potatoes contain more potassium than any other fresh vegetable in the produce department – even more than bananas. One potato has almost 900 milligrams, which is about 20% of what you need every day. Potassium is important for body growth and cell maintenance. It’s also necessary for nervous function and for normal muscle contraction - including the heart muscle. Potassium is also an electrolyte that helps to balance the fluids in your body, which is important for healthy blood pressure.

Potatoes also contain substantial amounts of vitamins C6 and B67, which are vital for blood clotting, wound healing, a strong immune system, normal nervous system function and for converting the food you eat to energy. There’s also a substance called kukoamine found in potatoes that may help to lower blood pressure, although more research is necessary to know for sure.

COLONIALS FALL TO DINWIDDIE 9-3 AT THOMAS DALE TODAY

The Colonial Heights baseball team fell to Dinwiddie last night 9-3 and it doesn't get any easier for the Colonials today when we travel to Thomas Dale. The CH softball team beat Dinwiddie last night 5-0. The CH softball team and boys soccer team will also be at Thomas Dale tonight while the girls soccer team will be at home. The Virginia baseball team beat Norfolk State yesterday 6-2, the Cvas will now return to ACC play on Friday against Maryland. I also understand that Andrew's baseball team will have its 1st game of the season Saturday night 6pm, I think the game is at Ironbridge Park. It looks like we might pick up some more rain over the next two days, there is a 50% chance of rain both today and tomorrow. It started raining pretty hard last night as soon as the game ended. Diets usually restrict the foods you love to eat. When told you can't eat something, you become obsessed with not eating it-and that makes you crave it even more. COLONIALS FALL 6-5, TREADMILL UP AND RUNNING, HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY

The Colonial Heights baseball team lost another tough one yesterday 6-5 to the Hopewell Blue Devils, the Colonials had several chances in the game to push some more across the plate but didn't. It doesn't get any easier for the Colonials tonight when we travel down to Dinwiddie to face the Generals and tomorrow when we are on the road at Thomas Dale as well. The CH softball team beat Hopewell 7-0, the girls soccer team won 3-0 while the boys soccer team lost 2-0. The Thomas Dale Knights also lost a tough one last night at Dinwiddie falling 8-7 in the bottom of the 7th. The Virginia baseball team beat Radford 12-2 yesterday and will face Norfolk State today.
