VIRGINIA FALLS TO DUKE, RED WINGS ELIMINATED

The Virginia baseball team lost to Duke last night 6-3 in Durham, the Cavs need to bounce back and win the next 2 games of the series or they may not make this years ACC baseball tournament.  In the NHL Playoffs last night the Detroit Red Wings became the 1st team eliminated this when Nashville  beat them 2-1 and won the series 4-2, in the only other game yesterday the Penguins stayed alive with a 3-2 win but still trail in the series 3-2.  My 2 favorite teams the New York Rangers & Washington Capitals return to action today in there respective series tied at 2 games a piece, the Rangers will be at home against Ottawa while the Capitals will be on road at Boston.  We didn't have practice yesterday but we will have it this afternoon at 1pm at the stadium.  My lower back is still very sore on my left side, hopefully when I throw some this afternoon it will loosen up a bit.  The Sprint Cup Series will qualify today at the Kansas Speedway for for tomorrows race, the truck series will run at Kansas today.  Well I hope everybody has a good Saturday.  MICKEY

Southpaws Will Beat You in Sports
Golf legend Phil Mickelson; tennis ace Rafael Nadal; boxing champ Oscar de la Hoya — did you know that a number of your favorite sports superstars are lefties?
Actually, left-handers may have the advantage in sports that involve two opponents facing each other, such as tennis, boxing, and baseball, according to an MSNBC review of the book The Puzzle of Left-Handednessby Rik Smits. The author chalks it up to the fact that left-handed athletes get a lot more opportunity to practice against right-handed opponents than vice versa (since there are so many more righties out there).
