NOT MUCH GOING ON AROUND HERE THIS WEEK
It sure has been a pretty quite week around Colonial Heights this week, just not a whole lot going on besides being cold. I did talk to fellow blogger George last night and he said he and Melody might come to see the Renegades play on Saturday night. Most state college basketball teams open up there season this weekend if they haven't already done so, there have already been numerous upsets in college basketball with Ohio State, Michigan State and Kentucky all losing game they should have one. The regular season for high school football ends tomorrow night with Matoaca visiting Colonial Heights, down at the beach the playoffs begin with Manteo hosting North Edgecombe. I am not going to any college football games this week because both East Carolina and Virginia will be on the road, I will be heading to the Renegades game both Friday and Saturday nights though. Fellow blogger Scott will be heading to Clemson to see the Wake Forest vs Clemson game though. MICKEY
Life is not holding a good hand; Life is playing a poor hand well.
Danish proverb
1913: Indiana's Clair Scott kicked football's worst punt. With the ball on the 3-yard-line, Scott punted from his own end zone. The wind caught the ball and carried it back into the end zone, where an Iowa player caught it for a touchdown.
1953: "The Buddy Holly Show" debuted on radio station KDAV in Lubbock, Texas.
1987: On the TV show "Dolly," Kermit the Frog and Dolly Parton sang "Everyday People."
1997: Johnny Paycheck became the 72nd member of the Grand Ole Opry.
Value and grow
The things you value are what become valuable in your life. You give value, you create value by your attention, your efforts, your commitment.
Value your work and it becomes more valuable. Value your home and it becomes more valuable. Value your life, your family, your faith, your body, your mind -- and they all become more valuable. Value your ideas and they become more valuable. Value your time and it becomes more valuable. Value your money and it becomes more valuable.
Value is not determined by a price tag. The value of anything is the value you give it. What do you value? What do you want to grow and become abundant in your life? Give yourself to those things that you value and they will certainly flourish.
