I am very sore this morning from raking the leaves to the street after work yesterday. Both by shoulders are hurting and my back is also a bit sore and I have two blisters on my hand also. I think my leaf raking days are now over, the next time I guess I will just have use the lawn mower and chop them up. It looks like the very mild weather will continue until Friday here in CH, then a cold front will cam threw and drop temperatures into the low 50's for Saturday by Monday high will only be in the 40's. EAST CAROLINA & GEORGIA WIN, UVA FALLS
The East Carolina Pirates beat the NC State Wolfpack last night in Raleigh 21-16, with the win the Pirates finish the season at 7-5 and will be going to a bowl game this year. The Georgia Bulldogs upset Georgia Tech 15-12 as I said they would on the blog yesterday, with the win the Bulldogs improved there chances of going to much better bowl. GA. Tech has to play Wake Forest next week in the ACC championship game, GO DEACONS, who would have ever thought Wake Forest would be playing in the ACC Championship in football. The Virginia Cavaliers offense was stifled by Virginia Tech all day yesterday as the Hokies beat the Cavaliers 17-0, the Cavaliers season now officially over. In hockey action last night the Renegades beat the FireAntz 6-4 at the RC in front of 4,393 fans at the RC, the Gades are back at home next Saturday night against the Pee Dee Cyclones. I do have a few more aches and pains to report, I think I got both injuries having to stand the entire football Friday night, my right foot is very sore and my back is very tight, I am just getting to old to stand for such a long period of time. LATE WEEKEND RIDDLE
ONE WILD FOOTBALL GAME
I went out see Matoaca play in the high school playoffs last night and I have to say that it was one of the wildest high school football games that I have seen. In the 1st half Matoaca couldn't do anything wrong and went to the half with a 35-7 lead over Deep Run. I was ready to leave because it was so cold and I didn't think there was any way that Deep Run was coming back the way they played in the 1st half. Well I stayed and witnessed one major comeback by Deep Run as they tied the game on a field goal as time ran out 38-38 and went on to win the game in OT 41-38. Just as Matoaca did in the 1st half Deep Run dominated the 2nd half enroute to the victory, Deep Run will play Edison next week in the semi-finals. Down at the beach Manteo beat Camden 35-7, Manteo will now play in the 1A eastern divsion finals against Northampton West with the winner moving on to the 1A sate championship game. Today in college football UVA will travel to Virginia Tech in a must win game for the Cavaliers if they want to go to a bowl, it will be a tough task for the Cavaliers. Also today East Carolina will play at NC State, there isn't anybody in the country that ECU would rather beat than NC Sate. In Georgia today Georgia Tech will be at Georgia in the battle of Georgia, I think Georgia will upset Georgia Tech today. In SPHL action last night the Renegades beat the best team in the league the Knoxville Ice Bears 4-0, tonight the Gades will be back at the RC against the Fayetteville FireAntz. Where in the world is Scott at, he has been very absent from the blog lately. MICKEY

Got your bacteria?
Yogurt is crawling with bacteria -- and the more of it you eat, the better. Be sure to buy yogurt with a seal that guarantees it has live, active cultures. These cultures -- especially acidophilus and bifida -- colonize the lower intestines with beneficial bacteria while muscling out disease-causing bacteria. Eating yogurt may help prevent diarrhea in people taking antibiotics. Yogurt is easy to digest, especially for those who are lactose-intolerant, and is an excellent source of calcium, protein, riboflavin (a B vitamin), vitamin B-12 (which may be low in vegetarian diets) and vitamin A. To avoid unwanted saturated fat, choose nonfat or low-fat yogurt.

In college football last night Miami upset Boston College 17-14, the win makes Miami bowl eligible. The win also makes Saturdays Wake Forest and Maryland game a battle for the Atlantic division title with the winner advancing to the ACC championship game with Georgia Tech. In high school football action tonight Deep Run 11-0 visits 11-0 Matoaca and at the beach Camden visits Manteo 13-0 in the semi-finals of the 1a eastern division playoffs. In hockey the Renegades offensive woes continued in Huntsville as the Gades fell to the Havoc 5-2, the Gades had 90 PIM'S in the game. The Gades will travel to Knoxville tonight to play the 1st place Ice Bears. It's not just for hippies! Tofu has timeless health benefits, and is one of the most nutritious sources of protein there is. Try it as a low-fat stand-in in dishes that normally call for meat. Tofu comes in a range of densities: silken, soft, firm and extra firm. Firm or extra-firm tofu holds its shape when sliced; use it for stir-fries, stews and braises. Soft and silken tofu is creamier.
