COLONIALS LOSE A HEARTBREAKER

The Colonial Heights Colonials suffered a heartbreaking loss at Prince George last night falling to the Royals 11-10 in extra innings. The Colonials lead the game 9-8 with two outs in the bottom 7th inning when PG got a run that tied the game and sent it to extra innings, the Colonials got 1 run in the top of the 8th inning but PG rallied again and put two on the board in the bottom of the inning to come away with a 11-10 victory. We deserved a better outcome in this won for sure but right now we are not doing the little things right that help you win ballgames. In other games in CD yesterday Dinwiddie beat Thomas Dale 16-6, Matoaca beat Hopewell 10-5, and Meadowbrook beat Petersburg 12-3. The Colonials will be back in action Saturday at 1pm in the LC Bird baseball tournament against Monacan. In softball action yesterday PG defeated CH 8-0 and in boys soccer action PG knocked off the Colonials 1-0. The CH girls soccer team tied PG 1-1 and JuliAnne scored the Colonials only goal. The UVA baseball team will be back in action this weekend against Duke and Andrew, Maureen and Keith are going to tonights game, I hope they don't get to cold. I have to say I didn't get much sleep last night because I was pretty frustrated, I would rather lose by 10 runs that to lose by one. CH and Chesterfield schools are now on Spring Break, so there are few bloggers out there who will have 10 days off in a row. The Nextel Cup Series is off this weekend for Easter. MICKEY
