A TOUGH DAY FOR THE CAVALIERS
The Virginia Cavalier baseball team suffered its first loss of the season yesterday at the hands of the East Carolina Pirates 6-1. The Pirates pitching staff pretty much held down the Cavs high powered offense, the only run the Cavs scored was very late in the game. They will play game 3 of the series this afternoon. The Virginia basketball team woes continued at Clemson yesterday where the Cavs fell to Clemson 72-49, the basketball team sure has lost all of its confidence it had earlier this year. The VCU basketball team picked up another win yesterday beating Akron 70-53, this was a good win for the Rams. Andrews basketball team also won yesterday giving Coach Lamantia his first win of the season, they will go for the 2nd straight win next Saturday. Tonight at the Olympics the Untied States hockey team will face Canada in a big Olympic match up, the winner will probably get a bye in the elimination round which begins soon. Kyle Busch won yesterday Nationwide race at California, the Sprint Cup Series will race there this afternoon. Its not looking good at all for the 1st day of baseball practice, there is an 80% chance of rain. MICKEY
Be a minuteman
"The biggest mistake that new runners make is that they tend to think in mile increments—1 mile, 2 miles, 3 miles. Beginning runners need to think in minutes, not miles." —Budd Coates, four-time U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier/coach
Plan Ahead
It may sound daunting, but taking the time to plan out your menu for the week and make a grocery list will help to eliminate unnecessary spending. That, and not going to the grocery store when you are hungry.
