IT'S DECEMBER NOW, HEADING TO THE ORAL SURGEON TODAY

It's hard for to be believe that it is December already and that I have not finished my Christmas shopping yet. I don't have a whole lot more stuff to buy but I do have several more more gifts to pick up. Well I am heading to the oral surgeon today to decide what they are going to do with my infected tooth today, it looks like that I will have to get an implant which will cost me dearly. They are not going to remove the tooth today, I am just going in for a consultation. The Virginia basketball team lost to Penn State last night 66-63, the Cavs lead most of the game before Penn State took over in the 2nd half. It so cold here in Colonial Heights this morning that I have ice on the windshield of my truck, well I guess it's December it's time for it to start to get cold. MICKEY

Play on the web. Doing online puzzles, like solitaire or sudoku, can decrease stress and improve mood, according to research from East Carolina University, in Greenville, North Carolina. Because you’re distracted from your worries by the game, your nervous system can relax. Find a game you like, one you become so absorbed in that you lose all track of time, and play it daily.

Olives are antioxidant powerhouses.
Olives grow in searingly hot sunlight, so they produce an overload of anthocyanins, flavonoids, and phenols that fight the oxidation caused by ultraviolet light. Inside you, these same phytochemicals fight the oxidation that may cause aging. And, like the oil they produce, olives are rich in monounsaturated fat, which will help lower your cholesterol and reduce blood clotting and may offer some protection against breast cancer.

Don’t overdo it: Olives are high in sodium so get your fix by spreading the flavor around. Slice a few strong-flavored olives such as kalamatas into pasta sauce. Dab a tablespoon of tapenade (olive spread) on a piece of crusty bread as an appetizer. Add sliced stuffed green olives to potato salad, egg salad, or mixed green salad. Explore olives, from the tiny, pistachio-size French green to huge, inky black Cerignolas.
