IT LOOKS LIKE ITS GOING TO BE SOGGY HERE IN CH
It looks like we are going to have couple of soggy days in here in CH. It started raining here last night around 8pm and it has rained steady most of the night. The National Weather Service says we could receive 4-8 inches from the remnants of TS Ernesto, the intensity of the rain should pick up later today. It looks like the OBX could get just as much rain and a lttle more wind than we will get here in CH. The CH football team is suppose to scrimmage Midlothian tonight at home tonight, but that game is probably in jeopardy. There a couple of colllege football games of interest tonight, Boston College plays at Central Michigan and South Carolina plays at Miss ST., those are just two af many Div I and I-AA games. The Reds lost again last night and thats all I am going to say about that. I hope everybody stays dry today. MICKEY

TS ERNESTO COULD BRING HEAVY RAIN TO CH
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch from this evening thru Friday evening for the potential of flash flooding in this area. They say there is the potential for 3-5 inches of rain over this period, we need the rain but we don't need it all at once. Down on the OBX since midnight they have received 1.14 inches of rain from a stalled out front. The Reds no longer lead the NL wildcard after losing to the Dodgers 6-5, I think the Reds are done. There are 8 teams within 3 games of the NL Wildcard lead. I think the Crawford County Middle School has a game today (Scottie) but I don't know who the play, maybe Scott can fill us in on that. I have posted an old photo from the past of the first dog that I ever had Pepper sitting at the top of the steps , I am sure there allot of bloggers who remember Pepper. MICKEY

TROPICAL STORM ERNESTO
Tropical Storm Ernesto on it's current track could bring us some much needed rain here in CH either Thursday or Friday. Some areas around got a pretty good storm last night but here in CH we barely got a drop. The Reds slide continued last night falling to the Dodgers 6-5 and with the loss there are 6 teams within 3.5 games of the Reds for the wildcard. The Green Bay Packers didn't fair much better last night losing to the Bengals 48-17, the Packers could be in for another long year, I just don't think there defense is to good. I have posted an old photo of a cookout at the beach, it looks like dad has everything on the grill under control as few fellow bloggers look on. I have also posted a photo from the beach that mom took yesterday. Well I am out soup now I hope everybody enjoyed it. MICKEY

THE COUNTDOWN IS ALMOST AT ZERO
Well as you can tell the countdown to go back to school is almost at zero, however they still have a week to prepare for there students this year. I will also be at all the Colonial Heights schools today delivering paper products to the cafeterias. We need to keep a close eye on TS Ernesto, it looks like it my try to come up the east coast later this week after hitting the Gulf Coast of Florida. Speaking of weather we sure could use some rain around here in CH, it has been very dry this summer. It also looks like the temps will fall into the upper 80's by the end of the week. How about Tiger Woods yesterday, he won his 4th straight golf tournament, he just makes it look so easy, that's why he is the best golfer of all time. The Reds struggles continue as the fell again to the Giants, things are not looking to good for the Reds tight now. Donna and AL did yall take any photos at the Orioles game yesterday? REDS LOSE AGAIN
I don't think I am going to mention the Cincinnati Reds on the blog again, everytime I mention them here they seem to go on a losing streak. The Reds are now 2 games out of first in the NL Central and they just lead the NL Wildcard by .5 games over San Diego and there are host teams right behind San Diego. I know it's only preseason but the Redskins sure looked bad last night losing to the Patriots 41-0, they haven't looked good at all in any of there preseason games. Matt Kenseth made it a clean sweep at Bristol this weekend winning last nights Nextel Cup race, for a race at Bristol there wasn't to much excitement. Next week they race at the California Speedway before heading to RIR the following weekend. It appears that mom made it out past the breakers yesterday when she went to the beach, it must have been hot on the beach yesterday or it the ocean must have been mighty calm. Speaking of the ocean we need to keep an eye out for Tropical Storm Ernesto, I have posted what the computer models think about this storm. Me Ma Ruth, Les, Keith, dad and Donna either came by or made requests for some of Mickey's Famous Soup. If anybody else wants any I may have quart left. MICKEY

the crawford county eagles looked impressive in their first and only scrimmage of the young 2006 high school football season. they got off to a slow start against chattahoochee county, before settling down and winning by a score of 34-13. dusty(#61) started on the kickoff team and later played the 4th quarter on the offensive line. also at the game was scottie(bobby booche')woodfin making his season debut as head rapid hydration engineer.

Well I got up this morning and decided that I would make some of MICKEY'S FAMOUS HOMEMADE SOUP and it as cooking as type. I think I will have some x-tra soup if anybody would like some but it will be on a first come first serve basis and you must have a pot or container to put it in. It should be ready around 11am, jut call if you would like some. In NC high school football action last night Camden defeated First Flight 19-7 and Manteo beat Columbia 49-0, next week First Flight plays at Manteo. Down in Georgia Crawford County won there scrimmage handily, I can't remember what the score was but Scott will probably have a report from down there later today. Next week Crawford County opens there regular season traveling to Taylor County there arch rivals. I have not heard what Colonial Heights did last night at Nottoway, maybe one of or fellow bloggers will give us an update on what CH did. Next Saturday college football begins for most teams, Va Tech, Virginia, Georgia and East Carolina will all be in action. Fellow blogger A.G. will be officiating the Colgate at UMASS game, at least it will warm at UMASS this time of year. Well the Reds could have moved into 1st place tie yesterday but the lost to the Astros, they are still 1 game behind the Cards in the NL Central and still lead the NL Wildcard but there lead there is shrinking. Well the Reds are back to 2.5 games out of first in the NL Central after yesterday and the Braves are still 4.5 games out of the wildcard, both the Reds and the Braves just need to keep on winning.
