COLONIALS WIN AT THOMAS DALE

The CH Colonials defeated the Thomas Dale Knights 7-3 in CD baseball action yesterday at TD to remain in a first place tie with Matoaca. Brett Draper went the distance for the Colonials allowing just 5 hits and striking out 6 in the victory. The Colonial offense was lead by Kyle Mears, Erik Loftis, and JD McCarty who had two hits a piece for the Colonials. The Colonials are now 7-1 in the CD and 11-3 overall. The Colonials next game is tuesday at 4:30pm against Dinwiddie at Shepherd Stadium. Andrew's LL team will be back in action saturday at 12:00pm against the Nationals on Ironbridge field #3. I am going to see some college baseball saturday at East Carolina when the Pirates take on the Tulane Green Wave. The Nextel Cup race this weekend is at the always exciting Talladega Speedway at least for the fans, the drivers don't like it though. Next week they will be at RIR. MICKEY

Brett is improving everytime I see him pitch. Earlier in the season he had trouble with the command of his pitches, but now seems to be getting ahead of hitters and they now have hit his pitch. It really a simple game, if you can throw strikes you can put yourself in position to win, and Brett is throwing strikes.

I don't know if he reads the blog, I thought he pitched a great game. So, congratulations and keep up the good work. Since, we're out of contention, I say Go Colonials.
