UVA BASEBALL CONTINIUES TO WIN

The Virginia Cavalier baseball team picked up there 13th straight victory yesterday knocking of James Madison 6-5, the Cavaliers will go for there 14th straight victory when they open up ACC play at Wake Forest. The ACC basketball tournament opens up tomorrow in Tampa, both UVA and Virginia Tech have 1st round byes. It was a very cold day at baseball practice yesterday but once I started throwing it wasn't to bad, at least the wind had died down some. It looks like it is going to be in the mid 50's today which isn't to bad. I know have a blister on top of my left little toe and and it is causing some pretty bad discomfort, I also still have a blister on my right big toe and two blister on the fingers on my right hand. Since I did throw again yesterday my right arm is also very sore so my AIP index is on the rise again. Has anybody seen or heard from former blogger Mark he use to to be a frequent contributor to Mickey's Place but lately he has been missing in action. I didn't win the lottery so I am of to work. TODAY'S RIDDLE:

When things go wrong , what can you always count on.

YES, I AM HURTING AGAIN

After being on the DL most of last week I returned to the mound yesterday and threw as many pitches as I have all year. My arm actually began to feel pretty good once I got past the initial pain and once I threw a curve ball or two it felt like something may have popped back in place. They hit me pretty good yesterday, everything I threw seemed to be up in the strike zone but I think I may be staring to get some of my velocity back, I might be throwing in the mid 60's now. I am very sore though this morning but it's the muscles in my arm and shoulder that are sore not my neck or other bones in my shoulder. It is going to be a very cold day for baseball practice today though. VCU became the 3rd team from Virginia to secure and NCAA basketball tournament birth last night beating George Mason 65-59, Old Dominion is hoping for at large birth. The UVA baseball team will be going for it's 13th straight victory at JMU this afternoon if they don't call it for being to cold. Don't forget to play the lottery today it is now worth $355 million. UVA SEEDED 2ND IN ACC TOURNAMENT, BASEBALL TEAM WINS 12TH STRAIGHT

The Virginia Cavaliers and the UNC Tar Heels finished in a 1st place tie for the ACC basketball title but the Tar Heels hold the tiebreaker because the beat UVA earlier in the year and will be the #1 seed in in the tournament while UVA will be the #2 seed. UNC, UVA, Virginia Tech and Boston College will receive 1st round byes in the tournament. The UVA baseball team won it's 12th straight game yesterday beating Delaware 3-2, the Cavaliers will go for there 13th straight Tuesday afternoon at James Madison before opening up ACC play at Wake Forest next weekend. Juan Pablo Montoya won yesterdays Busch race at Mexico City, it was his first Nascar sanctioned victory. I am hoping to come of the disabled list at practice this afternoon, however if I do come off the DL I might have to be on a pitch count. Don't forget to play the lottery, the Mega Millions jackpot is at $340 million and remember you can't win if you don't play. MICKEY

COLONIAL HEIGHTS & THOMAS DALE HAVE GOOD SCRIMMAGES, UVA BLOWS IT

Both the Colonial Heights and Thomas Dale baseball teams had pretty good scrimmages yesterday. Colonial Heights played ad Trinity and Thomas Dale played at home against New Kent, I won't post the scores of either game because it was just a scrimmage but both teams did outscore there opponents. I have posted a few photos from the CH scrimmage that Al took and a link below to the entire album. Next Saturday both CH & TD will finish up there pre-season schedule. The UVA basketball team blew a chance to be the ACC basketball champions outright yesterday falling to Wake Forest 78-72. Now the Cavaliers might have to share the title with three other teams depending on the outcome of today's games. They just can't beat the lesser teams in the ACC. The UVA baseball team won it's 11th straight game Saturday beating Deleware 10-4, they will go for there 12th straight victory today. The up and down season of the Richmond Renegades continued last night when the Gades beat the leagues #1 team Columbus in shootout 3-2, the Gades are now of until the they return to the RC both Friday and Saturday nights. If anybody would like a Colonials Baseball Sweatshirt I will be ordering some this week, the cost is $10, just call or e-mail me. I am night a quite as sore I have been most of the week, but I haven't thrown to much either because of a sore shoulder, but I have I have a new problem this morning my right ear seems to be pretty clogged up. VIRGINIA WILL WIN THE ACC TODAY & A COUPLE OF GEORGIA BIRTHDAYS

I just have a good feeling today about Virginia's game with Wake Forest today so I am going to go out on a limb and say UVA will win the ACC today, it won't be easy but they will win. The UVA baseball team won its 10th in a row yesterday beating Delaware 11-2, the will go for the 11th straight this afternoon. Speaking of baseball both the Colonial Heights Colonials and the Thomas Dale Knights have scrimmages today, the Colonials will travel to Trinity while Thomas Dale will be at home against New Kent. The Renegades win streak didn't last long, the FireAntz knocked of the Gades last night 4-1. The Gades will be Georgia tonight to take on the Cottonmouths. There are couple of birthdays down in Georgia today, it is Scott's dad birthday and it is also Dusty's birthday, I won't put the ages down for either because I don't won't speculate on there age. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNIE AND DUSTY. My AIP Index has dropped a little lower today but is still a little elevated, hopefull Al will come out to the scrimmage a get a few photos. MICKEY

CATCHING UP WITH WHATS BEEN GOING ON

Well the blog server picked a bad time to make Mickey's Place unaccessible to it's members. Allot of things have happened over the last two days while the blog has been down so I figured I would to catch everybody on what they have missed. The Virginia Cavaliers are now in 1st place by themselves on top of the ACC standings after knocking of Virginia Tech 69-56 and Georgia Tech upset win over UNC 84-77. I should have known that since Andrew and Keith were in attendance at the JPJ Arena last night that UVA was going to win. The Cavaliers can win the ACC Saturday by beating Wake Forest Saturday and wrap up the #1 seed for the ACC tournament. Also last night several tornadoes touched down in Crawford County, Ga not to far from Scott and Joy's house. According to the Macon Telegraph several houses were destroyed, maybe Scott and Joy can give us an update from Georgia. The Richmond Renegades picked up a victory last night Florence, SC knocking off the Pee Dee Cyclones 6-3, the Gades continue there road trip tonight against the Fayetteville FireAntz. Our 1st baseball scrimmage of the year originally scheduled for Shepherd Stadium has been moved to Trinity High School because of wet field conditions at the stadium. Also the UVA baseball team beat Deleware Friday night and will continue there 3 game series with Deleware on Saturday and Sunday. The Nextel Cup Series is off this weekend while the Busch Series visits Mexico City. MICKEY

Goulder's Remain Perfect - Hoos 69 Hokies 56

We pulled out all the stops last night. Not only did I get the enjoy another HOO WIN, Andrew also made the trip to see his 1st ACC game and to extend his perfect record as well. If the Hoos take care of business on SAT in W-S, then we can crown them ACC Champs.

But, long-time Hoo fans don't celebrate yet. We've been disappointed before! Have'nt we? As I tell all my Hoo friends this team can beat anybody in the country, but they can also be beaten by anybody as well. Proof, see Appay St, Utah and Miami.

Good luck to the Hoos and let's get another "W"

VIRGINIA TECH AT VIRGINIA

The battle for 1st place in the ACC is on the line tonight when Virginia Tech and Virginia meet at the JPJ Arena in Charlottesville with the winner having the inside track for a share of the ACC title. The last time these two teams meet in Blacksburg UVA was humiliated by Virginia Tech. I don't know whether fellow blogger Keith will be in attendance or not, if he is could be good night for the Cavs. Also in the ACC UNC which is also tied for 1st place in the ACC travels down to Georgia Tech for a very tough road game, it is very possible that the winner of tonights UVA and Virginia Tech game could be in 1st place by themselves after tonight. I was able to the throw batting practice yesterday but I have to say I didn't throw it very well, I was all over the place and I just didn't have much on it. My arm strength for some reason is just very low and I feel sorry for all out hitters because I am all over the place. Mom is still working on the computer, allot of things are back up and running but so far the Windows Player is still down. There have been some problems with host of Mickey's Place and I have had trouble posting comments and today's entry into the blog, hopefully you will be able to see this entry sometime today. I have had a pretty tough time the last few days between the computer and the baseball field. MICKEY
