Well there sure isn't much happening here in CH. To say it's been quiet is an understatement. I have posted an old photo of myself and it was taken when I was in the 6th or 7th grade and yes I did have allot of hair back then(I will add photo later, blogger not letting me add photos at this time). Donna and Al are the beach went down to the OBX last night for a short midweek trip to the beach. Andrew had his first football practice last night and Keith said he caught the ball pretty well, they have practice every night this week for a couple of hours. I did watch the Braves for a while last night and then I switched it to the Reds game for a while and I think that both teams are done for the season, the Reds still have a shot at the wildcard but that shot is starting fade also, the Braves are done. Well it looks like that I may have to go to the doctor soon for my ear. Although it still doesn't hurt I can't hear very well at all out of my right ear, I would say that my right ear has a 50% hearing loss at this time. When I pick up the phone I can barely hear the dial tone in my right ear, I may give it one more week to improve but I don't think it is. Jimmy Johnson won yesterday's race at the Brickyard, I thought for the most part that it was a very boring race. High School football practice starts today here in this area, also Andrew is going to play football this year and they also start practice tonight, he will be playing for the Wells Athletic Association. We sure could use some rain here in CH, it looks like there are plenty yards around here that have turned yellow the last few weeks. MICKEY

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD

Well today is dad's birthday and he is 66 years old today and he is spending his birthday at the beach. I have posted a couple of photos of dad taken in the last few months, again HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD. If there any fellow bloggers who want to be reconized on there birthday on Mickey's Place e-mail the date of your birthday, there are a few members that I don't know when there birthday is. Jeff Burton is on the pole for today's race at the Brickyard and his teammate Clint Boyer is with him on row 1. Last night Kevin Harvick won the Busch Race at ORP, it looks like Harvick will win the Busch Series title this year unless he totally collapses down the stretch. I have replaced dad's birthday counter with a teachers back to work in CH counter for Donna for she will know exactly how much time she has left on summer vacation. For those of you who need to see some football the Raiders and the Eagles will play in the Hall of Fame game tonight on NBC, it's hard to watch these exhibition games. I understand that fellow blogger Gary went to the American Idol concert last week in Richmond and we didn't get a single report on how the concert was from Gary here on Mickey's Place, did he not want us to know that he went? A BIT COOLER TODAY IN CH

Well it looks like it will be a bit cooler today in CH, temps around 90 but you can already tell that it's not going to be as humid today. I went down to Wal-Mart this morning and I was going to give there donuts another try but they weren't ready yet, they had a few leftover from yesterday but I didn't want any stale donuts so had some Kit Kats instead. The NFL will hold Hall of Fame Induction ceremony this afternoon and there are some very good players and very good coach going in, it can be seen on ESPN at 1pm. The players going in are Troy Aikman, Harry Carson, Warren Moon, Reggie White, and Rayfield Wright, also coach John Madden will be inductd this afternoon. Qualifying for the Brickyard 400 is set for 10am this morning and you can watch it on TNT, I think there are 50 cars trying to make this years 400, Ken Schrader was the fastest in practice yesterday. Tonight the Busch Series will be at IRP. How does everybody like the new clock and dad's birthday counter. MICKEY

FINALLY A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP

Well I finally got a good nights sleep, after getting to bed at 12:30am on wed night and just after midnight on tuesday I was finally able to catch up on my sleep last night. I went to bed around 9:30pm last night and I sleep like a rock until it was time to get up this morning at 5:50am, with all the heat we have had this week and staying up to late I was just flat out tired. My ear is still not much better but over the last few days it has started to itch a little and I can hear the water moving around some so I am hoping it won't be much longer before it clears up, now I remember why I don't go in the ocean to much anymore. The Nextel Cup Series is at the Brickyard this week and they will qualify tomorrow for sundays race, the truck series will race tonight and the Busch Series saturday night across the street at IRP. Here in CH the BIB tournament started last night, CH has two teams in this years tournament and there are allot of other area teams in field as well. It looks like the heat wave will break a bit after today, saturday it only suppose to be in the upper 80's. MICKEY

APPOMATTOX LEAGUE SEASON COMES TO AN END

Well our Appomattox League team season came to an end last night at Hopewell when we lost a tough one 7-6 in the bottom of the 7th inning to Manchester. We had tied the game in the top of the 7th and if felt like we had the momentum but Manchester was able to push a run across in the bottom of the 7th to pick up the win. Manchester will play Deep Run friday in the championship game of the Appomattox League. Andrew's team will finish up pool play tonight at 8pm in tournament they are playing in at the Robiuos Athletic Complex, they may play some more games this weekend if they win tonight. Well it is going to be hot for at least two more days before it does cool of a bit saturday and the humidity drops a bit, this morning here in CH it warmer at 6:30 am than it has been all week. I have posted an old photo from the past of George and Al sitting on the sofa from many years ago. MICKEY

ANDREW'S TEAM HOLDS ON FOR VICTORY

Andrew's LL team the Central Chesterfield All Stars held on for 13-10 win last night against the Chesterfield Knights. Central Chesterfield built a big lead but the defense in the 6th inning was difference in them holding on for the victory. They will play again thursday night at 8pm on the softball field at the Robiuos Athletic Complex. CH will be back in action against Manchester in the semifinals of the Appomattox League playoffs, the game will be played at Hopewell High School and gametime is set for 8pm as far as I know. I didn't get quite as hot as they thought yesterday it did make it to 98 but not quite the century mark, however they weather experts do think it will hit 100 today with a heat index of 110-115. My day was going pretty good yesterday until I found out that Cingular wants to charge me an xtra $5 a month on my cell phone bill because my phone is old, I will have to decide whether or not I am willing to pay that surcharge or not, I might just do away with my cell phone or switch companies I will have to decide pretty soon one way or another. I will definitely checkout the plans of other cell phone providers, stay cool today. MICKEY

CH WINS OPENER IN APPOMATTOX PLAYOFFS

CH defeated Prince George 12-2 last night in the 1st round of the Appomattox League playoffs on a very hot and muggy night at Prince George. CH got 10 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to break the game open, we will play Manchester wednesday night at 8pm at Hopewell High School semi-finals. There were several fellow bloggers at the game Mark, Melanie, Tammy, and dad besides me and Lee. Speaking of Lee he will be getting his drivers license later this morning, so everybody be careful north of the high school area. Also tonight Andrew's baseball team will play at 8pm at the Robious Athletic Complex on the AAA field, maybe Keith can give us another update on last nights game.
