COMPUTER BACK UP RUNNING

Well the computer here at the house as is back up and running and hopefully this time it will be for a long time.  Not having the main computer in the house is about as bad as having no electricity.  I have not slept well at all the last 2 nights, I think I woke up at about 2am the last night just tossed and turned until it was time to get up.  Yesterday at work was a very busy day, we had 2 drivers that where out so I went out on the truck with 17 stops.  I am hoping one driver will be back at work today so I wont have to go out of the office today.  MICKEY

Computer at the shop

Well I am typing today's entry to my blog on my phone as well. The computer here at the house is at the computer Dr. for repair, hopefully it will be back tonight. Jimmie Johnson won yesterdays race at the Brickyard, there was not a whole lot of excitement at all in yesterday's race, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Is your points leader. Well I am going to work. Mickey

Good Sunday Morning

I am writing today's entry to the blog sitting on the front porch at the beach. It is a bright sunny morning here with the temp in the mid 70's. Brad Keselowski won yesterday's Nationwide race at the Brickyard and will looking for a sweep this afternoon in Sprint Cup Series however he won't be the favorite this afternoon. Well me and dad went to the Black Pelican last night for dinner and we both got pizzas. We will be heading back to the Heights after lunch today. Mickey

Busy day at the beach

Well I have already had a pretty busy day here at the beach. The first thing I did was get up at about 5:45am and go down and take a few sunrise photos. The at about 9am I went out and ran 3.5 miles. Dad is just about finished cutting the grass and it won't be to long before it will be lunch time. Well I have got to go. Mickey

Going to the beach

Well me and dad are going to the beach tonight after I get off fro work for the weekend. The computer here at the house is not working so I am entering today's entry to blog by my phone. I sure am glad that is Friday because I need a couple of days off to rest, Mickey

VERY HOT TODAY AND TOMORROW

Well after a very nice day yesterday where the temp only mad it to around 90 degrees and the humidity remained low all day the heat will be back on the next 2 days.  It is suppose to be around 100 today and tomorrow with the heat index over 105 both days and there is about a 30% of rain each day.  I forgot to mention yesterday that the Olympics started yesterday, I just cant get into watching the Summer Olympics.  This weekend the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series both will be racing at the Brickyard, this will be he 1st time ever that the Nationwide Series has raced there.  Well I am going to head to work.  MICKEY

MOZART FEELING BETTER

Well after a trip to the vet yesterday afternoon and a couple of shots Mozart appeared to be feeling better last night.  He was not at 100% percent but he was starting play and eat again.  We went over to K&L last night for supper for the first time in about a month and I have to say it was pretty good, you cant beat the grilled pork chops.  Well I am heading to work.  MICKEY

JUST NOT ALLOT OF THINGS GOING ON

I almost didn't write an entry today because there is just not a whole lot of things going on around here.  Yesterday at work I had a pretty busy day but the day went by fast because I was so busy.  Last night I slept pretty well and I am feeling pretty good this morning.  Mozart was a bit under the weather yesterday, he just din't feel good at all and didn't want to eat or drink anything.  Hopefully Mo will feel better today.  It is going to be a bit humid today and we might pick up a few thunderstorms as well.  Well I am heading to work.  MICKEY

I DON'T LIKE MONDAYS

I sure don't like Monday's, I just don't feel like going to work after being off for a few days.  Elliott Sadler won yesterdays Nationwide race at Chicago holding off Ricky Stenhouse on the final restart to pick up the win, Stenhouse had the fastest car all day but had a bit of a slow restart when the took the green, white and checkered flag.  The Wi-Fi here at the house has not been good all week, it stays on for about 10-15 minutes then cuts off and then you have to reset the modem and I am already tired of doing that.  Well I am going to work.  MICKEY

BEEN EATING TO MUCH

Well I have to say that I been eating way to much the last two weeks and that I am going to need to cut back very soon.  It started last week when I was on vacation and it has continued this week.  I just seem to be eating everything and to much of everything which forces me to exercise more.  Speaking of exercise my legs have felt like they have been dead for about 2 months, they just don't feel good.  Speaking of aches and pains my list is continuing to grow.  The Nationwide Series will race at Chicago today while the Sprint Cup Series is off.  Well this years football contest continues to shape, I know 2 people from last year wont be back but I have added 4 new players but I am still waiting official word from a few others.  If anybody knows anybody who would like to play just e-mail me.  Have a nice day.  MICKEY

BLOG UPDATES

Well I have decided that I may not update my blog on a daily basis but whenever I have something to say or something to rant about.  Some days I may not post nothing at all but other days I might post 2 or 3 times a day.  Well last night we got a pretty good rain here in Heights and it feels a bit cooler as well.  My right shoulder is a bit sore this morning adding to my list of aches and pains, I hurt it last week while swimming at the beach.  Can you believe college football starts 6 weeks from today, I have to say I am ready for some college football.  MICKEY

I SURE AM GLAD THAT IS FRIDAY

I sure am glad that it is Friday even though it looks like there is a pretty good chance of thunderstorms all weekend.  Also after today there will be a couple of days with the temp in the 80's before returning into the 90's next week.  I just looked at the Major League Baseball Standings and I have to say they are a few surprises of whole leading each division as of July 20.  In the National League the Reds,Nationals and Giants lead while in the American League its the Yankees, Rangers and White Sox.  Also this year there will be 2 wild card teams in each league and right now the Braves and the Pirates lead in the NL while the Tigers and Angels have the spots in the AL.  Well I got to go to work.  MICKEY

A GOOD CHANCE OF STORMS

Well it looks like there will be a pretty good chance of thunderstorms starting this afternoon through Saturday here in the Heights.  Some of the thunderstorms could be very strong and could knock out some power to the area but hopefully no one will lose there power.  Hopefully the temps will cool of a bit soon, it looks like it will stay humid at least through Saturday.  My sinuses started acting up a bit yesterday as well and my right ear continues to be clogged up pretty bad, I sure will be glad when I can hear 100% again.  MICKEY

HEAT ADVISORY TODAY

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory this afternoon with indexes between 105-109, there is some relief on the way after tomorrow but with the relief there is a pretty good chance of rain through Monday.  I sure wish I was still on vacation, the week after you come back always seems to be the longest week of the year for some reason.  Well I am going to head to work.  MICKEY

ITS GOING TO BE A HOT THE NEXT 2 DAYS

Well it was warm yesterday but today and tomorrow the temperature will approach the 100 degree mark before such much cooler temperatures in by Thursday with temps only in the 80's.  It also looks like we will get some rain on Thursday and Friday with a better than 50% each day.  Well yesterday was a very long day at work after being off all of last week, hopefully it will go a bit smoother today.  This years football is starting to take pretty good shape, I haven't heard back from everybody yet but I have heard from allot of people.  Well I am off to work.  MICKEY

BACK TOP WORK

Well after being off for the last 9 days its time to head back to work this morning.  I have to say after doing very little last week it's going to be hard to back this morning.  Kasey Kahne won yesterdays Sprint Cup race at New Hampshire holding off Denny Hamlin for the win, it appeared Hamlin had the dominate car but chose 4 tires on his final pit stop when everybody else chose 2.  Matt Kenseth still leads the point standings by 16 points over Dale Earnhardt Jr.  The Sprint Cup Series is off next week preparing for the Brickyard on July 29.  Well I guess I will head into work.  MICKEY

Vacation comes to an end

Well I am very say to say that my vacation for this year is about to come to an abrupt end.  I wish I had another to stay here but I don't so I will be heading back to work tomorrow morning.  I hoping to come back down to the beach in a week or so for the weekend.  Everybody who was down here for the week is now back at home with the exception of myself, mom, dad and Mozart.  Well I guess I better start packing and do my morning exercise so I will be ready to go home this afternoon.  MICKEY

Last full day at the beach

Well today will be my last full day at the beach on vacation.  Last night night Keith, Al, Donna, Jacob and Julianne all headed back home.  Scott and his family will be heading back to Georgia this morning.  It has been a very eventful week on the Outer Banks for sure but it has been fun for the most part with the exception of Donna breaking her ankle.  I hope to get back down to the beach a few more times before the college football season starts which when you think about it isn't that far away.  Speaking of college football I will be sending out information soon this Pick Em contest.  Well I better get moving I have allot to do today. Another rainy morning at the beach

Well I was woken up for the 3rd straight morning by rain hitting the house. It usually clears off for a while during the afternoon but usually by the time it does nobody wants to go the beach. Last night Scott and Dusty went crabbing and came away with a pretty good catch. After being very hot first few days we were here and actually feels pretty cool down here now. I have not slept that well all week though. Mickey

Heading to Ocracoke

Well allot of us in our group are getting ready to head down to Ocracoke for the day.  I hope to post a few pictures from our adventure later today.  MICKEY

Very hot on the beach

Well I went down to the ocean yesterday and I have to it was like getting in the bathtub because water was so warm. The water was a very warm 78 degrees with the air temperature around 97 and sand was at about 150 I believe. I could hardly make it to water before my feet where on fire. I have had any really good runs down here at all, I just can't seem to get good rhythm. Well me and Scott are getting ready to go for a run so I will talk to everybody later. Mickey

Stewart wins Daytona

Tony Stewart won last nights Sprint Cup race at Daytona. It was a pretty calm race until about the last 30 laps when there were several accidents. Well it was a very hot day here at the beach and the humidity was pretty high as well. Everybody who is coming down this year is here now with Al arriving last night. Well I guess I better go for a run before it gets to hot. Mickey

PACKED UP AND READY TO GO

What else can I say but I am packed up and ready to go on vacation and that's where that I be going after working today.  Speaking of today it is going to be another 100 degree today here in the Heights and it looks like it is going to be hot through Sunday.  It is going to be hot at the beach as well through Sunday before a cold front comes through and drops the temps back into the 80's.  The Nascar Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will be at Daytona this weekend with Nationwide Series racing tonight and the Sprint Cup Series tomorrow night.  Well I am going to head to work.  MICKEY

HOT WEATHER CONTINUES

The hot weather will continue here in the Heights for at least the next 2 days with temperatures going over the 100 degree mark again and with the humidity it is going to feel much worst than that.  I think it is going to be another long day at work today because we are still a little shorthanded so it looks like that I will probably be on the truck for a while again today.  The only light at the end of the tunnel this week is that after tomorrow I am going to be on vacation.  Well I guess I better get ready to head into work.  MICKEY

A GOOD TRIBUTE TO ANDY GRIFFITH FROM HIS SHOW

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

I want to wish all you friends and fellow bloggers out there a very HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY.  The fireworks scheduled for tonight in Colonial Heights have been postponed until Saturday due to a contract dispute with the company that was suppose to do the show.  Another company has been hired to do the show but the earliest that they can do the show is Saturday night with a rain date of Sunday night.  If you are the beach which I am not you can go to the are of the Nags Head Fishing Pier to watch the fireworks show. Also down in Dare County yesterday morning America's favorite sheriff Andy Griffith passed away in his Manteo home at the age of 86, its a very sad day in Mayberry.  Well I have allot to do today on my day off, I have allot of packing to do so I will be ready to go on vacation Friday night when I get off work.  Also it is going to be very hot the next 3 days here in the Heights with temps around 100 all three days.  MICKEY

NOT MUCH HAPPENING

Well I have to say there is not a whole lot going on here in the Heights.  I have pretty much got got all my clothes ready to pack up and go on vacation next week.  I sure I glad tomorrow is a holiday because I sure need an extra day of rest.  We are short handed at work so I was on the truck yesterday in Richmond, I may may have to go out again today as well.  Well I am heading to work.  MICKEY

HIGH TEMPS WILL CONTINUE

The high temps of the last several days will continue until at least through Thursday with temps around 98-100 through Thursday.  There are still allot of people in the area who do not have power from Friday nights storm, since we did not lose power hear at the house at all I didn't realize there were so many people who don't have power.  As hot is it has been I really feel bad for anybody who does not have power.  Even though that I only have to work 4 days this week because of July 4 it is going to feel like a very long week since I am going on vacation next week.  Also my head continues to be extremely congested which is making me feel a bit tired because I am not sleeping well at night at all.  Well I am heading to work.  MICKEY

KESELOWSKI WINS AGAIN

Brad Keselowski won last night Sprint Cup race at the Kentucky Speedway holding off Kasey Kahne for the win, the win was his 3rd of the year pretty much guaranteeing him a spot in this years chase.  Matt Kenseth continues to lead the point standings with Dale Earnhardt Jr. second just 11 points back.  Well we got another pretty good rain last night around 11pm again and I think there might have been some hail as well.  I don't think it made it to 100 yesterday but it still was pretty warm however today I think it will make to 100, they are forecasting it to be 102.  Well I better go cut my hair and run before it gets to hot.  MICKEY
