ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY:

1910 - A baseball with a cork center was used in a World Series game for the first time. JUST THOUGHT YOU'D LIKE TO KNOW.


The Chicago Cubs could have won their third world championship, which would have been a Major League first, but the Philadelphia Athletics took home the title and their first in franchise history.

i have verified scotts latest "story" and he is correct with the murphy home run!! i'm still waiting on the ball manufacter though

after extensive research i have found that spaulding was the official ball of professional base ball (correct spelling )from like 1870 to 1977! bye the way i got my imformation from www.19cbaseball.com , lots of good vintage base ball imfo! NOW YOU KNOW!!!! lets talk bats now!!!!!!
