Bucs Fall To Midlo

The Post 284 Bucs fell to Midlo Post 186 tonight 12-3 at Rockwood Park. The Bucs just didn't seem to get many breaks tonight, Midlo had about 5 or 6 bloop singles, and every ground ball found it's way thru the infield. Midlo has a good team but the score should have been closer that in it was. The Bucs are now 2-2, the Pirates Post284 other team fell to Hopewell 9-2. It doesn't get any easier saturday as the Bucs travel to Mechanicsville Post 175 for a 7:30pm matchup at Lee Davis High School. MICKEY

Andrew's Team Finishes 3rd

Andrew's little league team season came to an end last night and his team ended up finishing 3rd place for the season. They were defeated 14-10 last night by the Marlins. The Post 284 Bucs are at Midlothian Post 186 tonight at Rockwood Park, both teams are 2-1 entering tonights game. The temp here was a little cooler today and the humdity was down also. MICKEY

Well I went back to court this morning and after I had been in the courtroom for about 2 minutes the judge told me he didn't think there was any reason for being there today. He said the case that I was involved with the suspect had already been found guilty and he just thanked me for coming and said I was no longer needed. That was all I needed to hear and I was out the door. MICKEY

Well I have to go back to court again today in Richmond this morning, hopefully this will be the end of it. The next time I see something like this taking place I don't know if I want to report it. It seems because this individual is under 18 that they really don't want to do much about it, he already has a pretty big record and he is only 14. We will just have to see what happens. MICKEY

Bucs Win Again

The CH Post 284 Bucs won the battle of Post 284 by defeating the 284 Pirates 8-3 at the stadium. Bucs pitcher Garrett Lythgoe got the victory and Devin Rose came in a pitched the final two innings striking out 5 of the 6 batters he faced. Jeff Shelton hit a solo HR for the Bucs. The Bucs improve to 2-1 on the season and our next game is Midlothian Post 186 at Rockwood Park on thursday at 7:30pm. Andrew's little league team lost tonight 10-9, the will play again wed night at 7pm in a must win game for his team. It was a scorcher here today in CH and it is suppose to very hot again wed, but then it is suppose to cool of for the weekend with highs in the 70's. MICKEY

284 Pirates At 284 Bucs

The battle of Post 284 takes place tonight when the 284 Pirates and 284 Bucs playat Shepherd Stadium in what is a home game for the Bucs. The Bucs are 1-1 and the Pirates come into the game at 0-2. Also this past weeeknd the Jr Bucs went 1-0-1 Chesapeake winning 10-4 and tieing the second game 12-12, they ran out of daylight. The Jr Bucs have Erik Loftis, Brett Draper, Vinny Roddy, and J.D. McCarty who are from CHHS, the rest of the team is from Matoaca or Dinwiddie. It is suppose to be very hot today here in CH and there is a chance of t-storms, the heat index will be around 105 this afternoon, hopefully it won't rain until after our game tonight. MICKEY

Bucs Get Victory

The Post 284 Bucs got back on track today with a 5-4 victory over Ashland Post 206 at Hanover High School. It was a very good game with lead changing hands about 5 times. Ashland had a runner on 3rd in the bot of the eight with nobody out but were unable to get him home. I have to say that the Hanover High School Complex is one of the nicest I have seen for soprts, everything was plush and very nice. The Bucs are now 1-1 and will play the 284 Pirates on tuesday at Shepherd Stadium at 7:30pm. It looks like it is going to be a hot the next few days so everybody stay cool. MICKEY

A Bad Night For Post 284

It was a bad night all around for CH Post 284 with both senior teams losing big. The Bucs lost 10-0 to Lakeside 125 and the Pirates lost 11-1 to Ashland Post 206. Both teams play again sunday so hopefully they will get both these games out of there systems. We play at 3pm sunday against Ashland Post 206 at Hanover High School. We only had two hits in the game and if you don't score any runs you are not going to be in many games. MICKEY

Andrew's Team Wins

Andrew's little league team won today 6-4 over the D-Backs to remain undefeated in the playoffs. Andrew went 1-2 today, they will play again at 6pm tuesday against the winner of a game later today. I will have a Post 284 update later tonight on the outcome of our game, we play at 5:30pm against Lakeside 125 at Shepherd Stadium. MICKEY

A Busy Weekend For Baseball

It is going to be a very busy weekend for baseball here in CH. We have two games this weekend, we are home against Lakeside Post 125 saturday at 5:30pm and then we are on the road sunday at 4pm against Ashland Post 206 at Hanover High School. Also Andrew has a playoff game saturday at high noon at Ironbridge Park. The weather looks like it is going to be about the same that has been the last week with temps in the 80's and the humidity being pretty high, and there is a slight chance of t-storms each day. Stuck In The Heat

It appears that CH is stuck in the heat and humidity for a few more days. Although the temp didn't make into th 90's today the humidity made up for it. There were allot of t-storms around today but for the most part CH missed most of them, there were a few showers nothing major here. We also have our first tropical system of the year in TS Arlene which suppose to hit in the AL and MS border area this weekend, "be on the lookout down there Scott and Joy" before heading north into the WVA are by tuesday or wed. This system is suppose to be Tropical Storm at landfall, hopefully it will stay west of the area. MICKEY

Andrew's Team Wins

Andrew's team won again last night 11-9 over the Phillies in little league action at Ironbridge Park. The game went 6 inings and Andrew hit a HR in the game. There next game is saturday at noon against a yet to be determined team. We had 284 practice again last night and it was quite humid, I think I dropped a few pounds throwing batting practice but we were able to get it in, it was lightning all around us but we didn't get any rain. We have practice again tonight and it's still going to be pretty warm and there could be a t-storm or two. MICKEY

It looks like it is going to be another hot one today, it 73.5 at 6:30am on it's way to the low 90's. Andrew has a liitle league playoff game tonight at 6pm against the Phillies. We have 284 for practice also tonight at the same time, I am sure it will still be in the upper 80's at the time of Andrew's game and our practice. We had our CHHS spring awards presentation last night and everything went well. I found out last night that Lee has his learners permit so when your on the roads around CH be on the lookout for him. Looks Like A Summer Week

It looks like summer is going to arrive this week with some warm temps, and a chance of t-stroms just about every day, and it's going to be a bit humid also. Andrew's team the Astro's won 14-4 yesterday over the Red Sox, Andrew had two hits in the game and they play the Phillies tuesday at 6pm at Ironbridge Park. We had Post 284 practice last night between the rain and t-storms, it was pretty tought throwing the ball because of the rain and mud on the ball, but I didn't hit anyone though. We are having the CHHS spring awards tonight at the school. MICKEY

A Busy Sunday

It looks like I am going to have a very busy sunday. This morning I am taking annd picking up Me Ma Ruth from church and then we will probably go out and eat luch somewhere. This afternoon I am going to see Andrew play in the the playoffs at 2pm at Ironbridge Park and this evening we have Post 284 baseball practice at Shepherd Stadium. Also between those things I have to get my excercise in. Well yesterday was no better for the college teams that I would have like to see win a game in the NCAA baseball tourmament, UVA, VCU, and ECU were all eliminated yesterday without winning one game. I did get to see the A-Braves beat Pittsburgh last night 1-0 in a thriller, the just don't seem to score when Kyle Davies is pitching. Well I have to run. MICKEY

NCAA Baseball

Well it looks like all the teams that I was rooting for in the NCAA baseball tournament lost there first game yesterday. UVA, ECU, and VCU all lost, UVA was the only higher seed that lsot of the three. I watched the Ga. Tech and Furman game last night on ESPNU, GA Tech won that game in x-tra innings. Hopefully all of those teams willl win today, it will be tough for any of them to come back and win one of the regionals because of the number of games they will have to play. The weather here in CH is cloudy this morning, there is a chance of t-storms this afternoon. Andrews game saturday has been postponed until 2pm sunday. MICKEY

It Looks Like The Rain Is Over

It finally looks like the rain is over and just in time for the weekend. The weather has played havoc with Legion baseball practice just as it did with high scool practice with all this rain. Our first game is next saturday and we have only had two practices, we are down to about 25 players, but we have to get to 18 by next saturday. I am staying in town this weekend and I am going to see Andrews little league game saturday at 10am weather permitting. MICKEY

I am a bit glad to see it rain today because my arm needs a little break from Post 284 baseball practice. The last couple of days I have thrown alot in live game situations, and it had been a week since I threw any at all and needless to say my arm is a little sore. Andrews little league team laot there final regular season game last night 13-9, Andrew did have three hits in the game though. Andrews team starts payoffs this saturday at 10am at Ironbridge Park. It seems like Lee has left us again we haven't heard any comments from him in a while. MICKEY
