PHILLIES WIN WORLD SERIES, PAIN INDEX RISES

The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Rays last night 4-3 on a very cold night in Philadelphia and doing so won this years World Series. I got cold just watching the game but I have to say the conditions were better than they were Monday night. My PAIN index is up this morning after cutting the grass yesterday, with all the cold weather we have the last few days the lawn mower just didn't want to start. I finally go it started but I think I might have pulled every muscle in the right side of my body doing so. The Colonial Heights girls volleyball team will play Thomas Dale tonight in the finals of the Central District Volleyball Tournament at Colonial Heights at 6pm, I may go see some of the game if I get back from eating in time. It looks like the weather will warm up a bit here in CH the next two days, Friday it is suppose to be 67 and Saturday 70 and thats just fine with me, I don't like cold weather. Don't forget tomorrow is Halloween, I don't want you to make all those Trick or Treaters upset by not having any candy. MICKEY

What Is MRSA?
Some staph infections become increasingly resistant to antibiotics and are more difficult to treat. MRSA is a type of staph infection (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus) that is resistant to first line antibiotics such as methicillin, amoxicillin, and penicillin. The original MRSA infections emerged in the 1960s and were associated with exposure in the health care setting, particularly in hospitals, and are referred to as hospital-acquired MRSA or "HA-MRSA." This type of MRSA infection is difficult to treat because it is not susceptible to stronger antibiotics such as clindamycin or Bactrim.

WEATHER PUSHES BACK WORLD SERIES, VCU MULLS ADDING FOOTBALL

The weather wasn't doing the World Series yesterday in Philadelphia pushing back the conclusion of game 5 until tonight. They are suppose to throw the 1st pitch tonight at 8:37pm with the Phillis hitting in the bottom of the 6th inning with score tied at 2. There was an article in yesterdays paper about VCU mulling the possibility of adding football in the future, the outgoing president didn't want football but the AD at VCU thinks that the new president may want to explore this option in the future. If this happens the VCU bookstore wont be able to sell the shirt that say VCU football still undefeated. I think that VCU will add football at some point in the future, it may 10 years though before they actually have a team on the field. Believe it or not we actually had baseball camp at the stadium last night, it was bit cool and it a bit breezy but for as much rain we had on Monday the field was actually in very good condition. My PAIN index is up a bit from throwing BP yesterday but not to much. It looks like the majority of people who voted on the poll of where fellow blogger Mark has been agree that the reason that he has been absent lately is because he hasn't inducted into the Whiffle Ball Hall of Fame. DID YOU KNOW
The bird with the largest wingspan is the Wandering Albatross Diomedea exulans which lives in the southern oceans. Its wings average 2.54 - 3.51 m. The largest recorded wingspan was of a very old male whose wings measured 3.63 m.

Pillow Case for Trick or Treat Bag
A white pillow case (or any old one will do) works really well for trick or treating. It holds lots of candy, won't tear and can be seen by motorists when most costumes are dark. They can be decorated to look more festive. For shorter children, they could be cut down shorter or folded inward to half the size.

Should this Man be in the Wiffle Ball Hall of Fame?

Every year at this time, the wiffle ball community is faced with this difficult decision. Should Mark's numbers speak for themself and pave his way into the Hall or should he be penalized for pulling his team from the field in the heat of the contest in the now memorable "hiney ball" game therby banning him for life from the Hall
One may argue that Mark is the victim here, it was not Mark who threw the bean ball the initiated the above mentioned "hiney ball" incident, he was actually recipient of the pitch.
I believe as my dad stated in his blog entry below, it is time to put this issue to rest one way or the other. Someone needs to lay out all the facts so an independent arbitrator can make an honest assessement as to whether Mark enters the Hall or NOT.

RIDDLE

Sandi was the only one who answered the question yesterday. She got the food trivia question right. Sorry to be so late with the blog but I'm at the beach and running a little late. I almost used the questions again.

GAME 5 SUSPENDED, TITANS WIN AGIAN

Well game 5 of the World Series was suspended in the 6th inning last night with the score tied at 2-2, they will resume the game tonight at 8:29pm. I don't think they ever should have started this game last night, it was already raining when the game started and the new it was going to get worst and it it did. The field was in pretty bad shape the last few innings before they called it. Speaking of bad weather it was a pretty raw day here in Colonial Heights yesterday afternoon, we had a pretty steady rain with temps falling into the low 40's and a pretty steady wind as well. It looks like it is going to be very windy here today here in CH with winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph and the temps are only going to make it to the low 50's, you better put hat on your head or your going to get cold today. The Tennessee Titans remain the only undefeated team in the NFL with a 31-21 win over Indianapolis last night, with the win the Titans are now 7-0. I have added an informal poll to the top right of the page of why Mark hasn't been on the blog. MICKEY
