I AM BACK UPAND RUNNING

Well after having some computer problems yesterday we are back up and running, although I don't think we are back at 100% yet. The problems have arose because we are going to switch to Direct TV fairly soon and had to find a new internet provider which is Verizon. After installing Verizon a few headaches arose and there are still a few kinks that need to be worked out, like everything else you are using for the 1st time I guess you have to get used to it. I will have a new e-mail address in the not so distant future. I saw former blogger Gary Fox yesterday afternoon & told him he needed to come back and join us on Mickey's Place. I saw Gary at the CHHS cross county meet, that's right I went to my 1st cross country meet yesterday, Gary's son Jonathan was running for the "Evil Empire". Scot was there a JV football game yesterday or are they playing today. Also last night fellow blogger and karaoke star Glenn joined us for dinner last night at the Cracker Barrel, thats right from what I understand Glenn is karaoke star. The construction crew hasn't made much progress on the new room this week, they seem to be missing in action. MICKEY

Success depends upon previous preparation, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure.

1954 - The Tonight show debuted on NBC-TV. Steve Allen hosted the late-night program which began as a local New York show on WNBT-TV in June 1953. Tonight became a launching pad for Steve and hundreds of guests, including Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. Skitch Henderson and orchestra provided the music. Ernie Kovacs was the host from 1956-1957.
1989 - The first two people to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel and live to tell about it, did so this day. Actually, Jeffrey Petkovich and Peter DeBernardi went over 167-foot high Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side of the Falls.

Wash Fruits and Vegetables
While it's important to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables each day, it's also crucial to wash them before eating.

Here are some guidelines, courtesy of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension:

* Wash any raw fruit or vegetable before peeling, cutting, eating or cooking.
* Try a fruit and vegetable wash that is designed to remove bacteria and pesticides.
* Soak and wash produce in distilled water for one to two minutes.
* Use a vegetable brush to scrub any produce with a thick skin.
* Wash any produce that you grew yourself, or that was grown by someone else.
* Thoroughly wash your hands and any cutting or preparation surfaces before preparing fresh produce.

Have no fear...we have a karaoke machine and some cd's, too. We'll hook it up to Bobby's new, big TV and have a blast! (Although, I don't sing, which I'm sure you're glad to know!)
