RIVERDOGS FUTURE VERY DARK

The future of the Richmond Riverdogs appears to be very dark. The coach of the Dogs will be leaving at the end of the week and relocating to Hoffman Estates the location where the Dogs owner wants to move the team. The owners insist that no decision has been been made about the Riverdogs future and the team at Hoffman Estates will be an expansion team, if you belive that I have some oceanfront property in Arizona I would like to sell you. I am sure that the league is try to find someone to by the Riverdogs, but that is unlikely because of what they have to put up with the city of Richmond. The future of hockey doesn't look good at all in Richmond. The CH girls basketball team picked up a very spirited when over Prince George last night 58-47, the Colonials were down 27-20 at half-time. It was very physical game, they will play at Hopewell thursday night. The CH boys will be at Prince George tonight. MICKEY

ANOTHER MONDAY MORNING

Well after a weekend of going to two hockey games, Andrew's basketball game, and by Me Ma Ruth's twice this weekend it's time to start a new week. After lunch at Me Ma Ruth's yesterday I didn't do much at all the rest of the day, I did watch a little NHL action and a little college basketball last night. I just didn't feel like doing much at all yesterday. I like the old photos that I have been posted the last few weeks, needless to say the clothes have really changed over the years. Also yesterday I somebody told me there was a possible George sighting in CH, I would have to see that to believe it though. The CH girls basketball team will be back in action tonight at home against an old rival Prince George. Baseball practice starts 3 weeks from today, the weather will probably take a turn for the worst by then. Today here in CH the weather is going to be very mild with temps in the mid to upper 60's. MECAHNICS WRENCH DOGS

The Motor City Mechanics put a wrench in the Dogs plans last night with 4-3 victory over the Dogs ending the Dogs 6 game winning streak. The Dogs will seek revenge tonight as they will play the Mechanics again tonight at the RC. The CH girls basketball team defeated Petersburg 47-44 in OT last night. The CH boys fell to Petersburg 66-58. We think we have fixed most of the computers problems, but there are a couple more things we are trying to straighten out. MICKEY

COMPUTER GETTING BETTER

Well the computer here in CH is getting better but I don't think it is back up to 100% yet. Last night mom ran a scan of the computer that came back with 7 viruses, the program she was using now says that all have been cured. Norton's so far hasn't found any viruses yet which does concern me, somehow the viruses are also appear to be reappearing. This new porogram that mom put on the computer will hopefully work but we will just have to see. It is going to be a bit cool here today with high's in the upper 40's, but there won't be any wind like yesterday. I have enclosed an old phot of me holding a football on the sidewalk. MICKEY

Well Keith is now 4-0 for the season attending UVA basketball this year with UVA's 71-51 victory over Miami last night. I got to see the game on ESPNU last night, there are not to many cable companies in our area that have ESPNU but Adelphia does. The computer here at the house has been acting up a bit, we are still trying to figure what is causing the problem, hopefully it won't cause to many problems before we can correct the problem. Well since it has been pretty quite around here in CH I thought I would post and old photo from the past. I am sure everybody knows who it is since he is a regular on Mickey's Place. There are no high school basketball games until friday night here in CH, exams start today for all high school students. Keith will be returning to University Hall tonight when UVA plays the Miami Hurricanes, he thinks that since they beat UNC when he was there last week that he is a good luck charm for them, I guess we will see if thats true after tonights game. I went down and threw some batting practice last night so my arm is a bit tight today, also I took a ball off my left elbow which is slight bruise, it is good thing that I had two sweatshirts on or it could have hurt allot worse. The Richmond Riverdogs won there 6th straight game yesterday defeating the Missouri River Otters 4-1 at the RC, the Dogs will try to make it 7 in a row friday night when they play the Motor City Mechanics. Well the 2006 Super Bowl is set now with the Steelers meeting the Seahawks on Feb 5, we will now have two weeks of hype for the game. I think they should play the game next sunday. I have enclosed a photo from a fight last week in the NHL in which Darren McCarty got cut in, he was fighting Sheldon Souray of the Montreal Canadiens. CLOUDY MORNING ON THE OBX

It was a bit windy and cloudy this morning on the OBX. I got up to take some more sunrise photos but the sun was staying behind the clouds this morning, so I just took a few shots. The AFC and NFC Titles will be decided today with the Steelers visiting the Broncos and the Panthers visiting the Seahawks, I think both games are going to be close. The Richmond Riverdogs won there fith straight game last night knocking of Roanoke again 5-3 in Roanoke, the Dogs will return home today for a game against Missouri this afternoon. There was an article in todays paper that said Allen Harvie would put an SPHL team in Richmond if the Riverdogs decide to pull out, he said he can't do anything until the Dogs decide what they are going to do. Harvie also said he tried to buy the Riverdogs last year but the former owner of the team kept going up on the price of team when a deal was reached. He said that with the budget of an SPHL team that it coul work in Richmond, but he would have to work out a lease with the city. I guess we will just have to wait and see how everything plays out. I will be heading down to the OBX tonight for the weekend. Since I am going to the beach I thought I would post a sunrise photo that took last year in KDH. The UVA basketball stunned UNC last night at U-Hall 72-68, I told Andrew last night UVA would win. The CH girls lost a heartbreaker to Dinwiddie 69-67, the boys team will play Dinwiddie tonight in CH, both teams will be off most of next week for exams. THE WIND ALMOST BLEW ME OVER

The wind here in CH almost blew me over a couple of times yesterday, I thought that I might have to put some rocks in my pockets to keep me on the ground. There were some gusts over 40mph on several occasions and Virgina Power crews had a busy day with trees falling on power lines all over the area. In VA and NC there two fatal boating accidents because of the high winds, today in CH the winds have died down and the temp is suppose to be in the low 60's. The UVA basketball team will play those hated UNC Tarheels tonight at University Hall, I undersatnd Keith will be making the trip to Charlottesville. STEELERS SURVIVE

The Pittsburgh Steelers survived a late scare from the Colts and held on for 21-18 victory in the AFC playoffs. They tried to give the game away late when Bettis fumbled with less than two minutes to go but the Colts kicker shanked a field goal that would have tied it pretty and Steelers hold on to win a game that should not have been this close. The Steelers will travel to Denver next sunday for the AFC title game. In the NFC the Carolina Panthers defeated the Chicago Bears 29-21, the Panthers will travel to Seattle next sunday to play in the NFC title game. The Virginia Cavaliers beat the Hokies in ACC basketball action yesterday 54-49 in Blacksburg, the Cavs needed that victory. It looks like it is going to be another pretty mild weather week here in CH again, today looks like the coldest day of the week and the temp is suppose to be around 50 today. The Washington Redskins fell to the Seattle Seahawks 20-10 yesterday, the Redskins offense was just terrible again yesterday. They did finally start moving the ball towards the end of the game a bit but that was only after they stopped trying to run the ball. The Skins need another WR and QB with a stronger arm and that's allot less than what the Packers need. In the other NFL game yesterday the Patriots loss to the Denver Broncos 27-13. Today at 1pm the Steelers play the Colts and at 4:30pm the Panthers play the Bears. The UVA basketball team play at Va Tech today at 4pm. SATURDAY OFF TO A BAD START

Well my saturday hasn't got off to good of a start. First I didn't get much sleep last night a pretty good t-storm came thry CH around 1:30am and it lasted for about an hour and I just tossed and turned after that until I got up around 6:30am. The I get up and go down to Wal-Mart only to find that they donut fryer is broke and there are no donuts this morning, they had few on the rack that were left on the shelves from yesterday but none that I liked. So I am hoping that my day will improve as it goes on. The CH boys basketball team lost last night to Meadowbrook 85-65, CH is now 5-7 on the season. The Riverdogs defeated the Roanoke Valley Vipers 4-2 in a very entertaining game last night at the RC, I have posted a couple of photos from Dogs team photographer of a couple of the scraps last night, the Dogs play in Roanoke tonight.
