SUGAR BOWL !!

WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO SEE THE BULLDAWGS PLAY!

UVA WINS MUSIC CITY BOWL

The Virginia Cavaliers ended there 2005 football season with a 34-31 win over Minnesota in the Music City Bowl, it was a up and down season for the Cavs but it is always good to go out on a winning note. The big question for the Cavs next year is at QB, who is going to play it. The Riverdogs got pounded last last night at the RC 6-2 by Danbury, the Dogs fell behind 3-0 in the first 10 minutes and always seemed to be about 2 steps behind Danbury all night. The CH girls basketball team lost to Collegiate 50-41 in the finals of the Collegiate tournamnet, both the girls and boys will be back in action next week. I have been going thru some old photos we have at the house and I am posting one from a few years ago at Christmas time. MICKEY

FAMOUS VIRGINIAN !

THERE HAVE BEEN MANY VERY FAMOUS VIRGINIANS THROUGHOUT HISTORY. DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THIS ONE?

WENT TO MINERAL, VA LAST NIGHT

Me and Al made the trip over to Mineral, VA last night to see George and Melody and exchange Christmas gifts. Melody and George gave me a NY RANGERS shirt and a NHL fight dvd which from what I have seen so far has some pretty good bouts on it. While we were there we played a Nascar racing game and I have to say that I wasn't very good at controlling the car I was driving, and I think I was worst at this game than I was playing Andrew in the NHL hockey game. Those type of games have come a long way since those old Atari games. The Riverdogs took it on the chin last night 6-3, Goody fought Winfield three times in this game, once eacg period. The CH girls basketball team will be back in action this afternoon against THE Potamac School, they will also play friday against a yet to be determined school. The weather is pretty mild this morning here in CH the temp is 51 and it is suppose to get 57 and the rains appears to be over for the most part. MICKEY

There isn't much happening around here, I think everyone is still unwinding from Christmas and getting ready for New Years now. The leaf man did come yesterday and pick up the leaves from the gutter and that is probably the highlight of the day here in CH. I watched some of the bowl games last night with Clemson and Arizona St getting the W's. I have posted some more photos from Christmas day and they can be found at http://public.fotki.com/bp2/ the password is the same for all locked albums and it is the same one I sent yall the other day. BACK TO WORK TODAY

Well after three days off I will be heading back to work today. I think I have been running to much on my new treadmill the last few days, my hamstrings are very sore. I have posted some Christmas Eve photos and I will post the Christmas Day photos later today and I will sen and e-mail out when I have them posted. If there is anyone who would like to view the photos they can e-mail me and I will give them the password. I have enclosed a photo of dad sporting his new shirt that he got for Christmas from another blogger, he doesn't understand why someone would say such a thing about what he knows. MICKEY

I HOPE EVERYBODY HAD A NICE CHRISTMAS

Well I hope everybody had a nice Christmas and didn't eat to much, if you did I know where you can use a treadmill to burn some of those extra calories off. I think I am already getting tired of ham and turkey and might have to get a hamburger somewhere today. These collages are from the Christmas Eve Party here at the house, I will put all the photos on a picture album that everybody can see later today or tonight, I will send you an e-mail link if I have your e-mail. It was sure messy Christmas day with all that rain we had in CH, well I guess we were lucky it could have been snow and that would have looked nice but would have been a real mess. I got some more nice presents yesterday from a nike jacket, to some college t's, some nike shoes, a new heater for the exercise room and some some money to buy some other things. Well again I hope everybody had a nice Christmas, Scott did you take any photos. MICKEY

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, it's a cool cloudy morning here in CH with some rain on the way but that's ok today. I got some early gifts yesterday and one them I will use for today's quote of the day. I got four new quote books from Al and Donna from the baseball and football world. I also got a ESPN College Football Encyclopedia with everything you ever wanted to know about NCAA football and nice red Georgia Bulldogs pullover along with 2005 Georgia Bulldogs SEC Championship tee shirt from Scott, Joy, Dusty, and Scottie all which I like very much. We had about 20-25 family member over last night for our annual Christmas Eve dinner and I think everybody had plenty to eat and I think everybody had a good time. We heading over to Keith, Maureen and Andrew's house today and over to Aunties house later tonight. The Redskins looked pretty good saturday in taking out the Giants 35-20, all they have to do is when next week in Philly and they are in the playoffs. They might have to do it without Mark Brunnel who was injured yesterday though, it looks like Patrick Ramsey will probably get the start next week. I have enclosed a photo which was taken last week at the Skins game of Gary with the some of the Redskin cheeleaders. MERRY CHRISTMAS, MICKEY

DOGS WIN 4-3 IN SO, OLD TIME HOCKEY RETURNED

Some Old Time hockey returned to Richmond last night as the Dogs defeated the Flint Generals 4-3 in a shootout. There were 5 fight in the game and everything broke lose at the end of the 2nd period as the Dogs were leaving the ice, and the backup goalie for Flint said something to the Dogs goalie as he skated by the bench heading towards the locker room. I have enclosed some photos of the incident that were taken by both of the Dogs team photographers. As one of our former coaches said it is always better to give than recieve and at this time of year the Dogs did that last night pretty well. It was a good win for the Dogs since they were trailing 3-1 going into the 3rd period. It went down to Wal-Mart this morning and it was pretty crowded with all those last minute shoppers, but they did have the donuts ready so I was pretty happy. They did have just about every checkout open though. It is going to be a very busy today so I better run, I will have another post later today. MICKEY

Merry Christmas

Just wanted wish everyone a Merry Christmas, I hope you all been good this year.

Its a Girl...but in April

Hello everbody!! Melody and I wanted everybody to know that we just found out the other night that we are having a little girl in April. This ultrasound the baby cooperated better and gave the nurse the "look" she needed to determine the sex of the baby. We are excited to say the least except for the fact that Melody is not budging on naming the baby Dale! Not even the middle name!! We actually have decided on a name and it will be Lexi Miranda. Take care and have a Merry Christmas!

BE ON THE LOOKOUT !

please be on the lookout for this man, we have reason to believe that he kidnapped this nice woman and her two children. there is no way they would have gone with him willingly.

NEW TREADMILL GETS WORKOUT

Well my new treadmill got it's first workout yesterday afternoon and I liked it so much that got back on it last night, it sure beats running outside in the cold and wind. Now I won't have to run outside unless I want not beacuase I have to. Well I am going to do everything possible to stay away from the mall today, it is going to be a zoo down there today. I will make an early trip to Wal-Mart on saturday morning to pickup a few things though, it will be before 7am though. The Riverdogs are home tonight against the Flint Generals, last week the Dogs beat the Generals 1-0 in a offensive shootout, so don't look for to many goals in his one. Gary where is the picture you said you were going to post. If you haven't finished your Christams shopping it's almost to late. MICKEY

TREADMILL PUT TOGETHER, DOGS WIN

Well wed night turned out be a good night after all. First my treadmill came last night right around 5pm and while we where at the hockey game Al came by and put it together and the Dogs won the hockey game 5-3 in pretty much a ho hum affair, but a win is a win. I will get to try out my new treadmill this afternoon, I have the heat on the shed and now I won't have to nearly freeze to death when I run. I will be giving myself my Christmas haircut this afternoon, I haven't cut my hair since last thursday so it has started to grow out a bit. Time is running out for all you last minute shoppers, there only three days left before Christmas. MICKEY

Well my new treadmill should arrive sometime today, the lady at Old Dominion said it could come anytime between 8am and 5pm. Once it arrives I will need someone (AL) to put it together and you probably should bring your own tools because the ones we have may not be the best ones to use. The CH Colonials defeated Lee Davis last night on the road 65-56 to improve to 4-3 on the season, they will be off until after Christmas break now. The Richmond Riverdogs went into the third period with a 1-0 lead over Roanoke but fell to the Vipers giving up 3 third period unanswered goals 3-1 in Roanoke last night, the Dogs are home against the Elmira Jackals tonight. I did go down to the warehouse and throw a little batting practice last so my right arm is a little sore but to bad. It is suppose to warm up to the mid 50's the rest of the week after today, it has been very cold here in mornings the last few days. I have enclosed an old photo of Al from a few years ago. MICKEY

The CH girls basketball team picked up another win last night beating Lee Davis 65-27 at Lee Davis, the boys team will play at Lee Davis tonight. The Riverdogs are in Roanoke tonight before returning home wed night for a game against Elmira. My treadmill will come on wed, I talked to Old Dominion yesterday afternoon and they said it would come Tuesday but nobody is going to be here during the day so I told them to push it back to wed. REDSKINS SWEEP COWBOYS

The Washington Redskins defeated the Dallas Cowboys 35-7 to sweep the the Cowboys on the season. I can't remember the last time the Cowboys where swept by the Skins, with the win the Skins moved into the final playoff spot in the NFC but must win there remaining games to keep that spot. The GB Packers will play Baltimore tonight in a battle of two teams who have struggled all year long. We played basketball at the high school last night and I am very sore this morning from head to toe and it is probably going to get worst as the day goes on. We are try to get the players into some type of shape before baseball start in a few months, and it's good exercise for everybody else. My new treadmill is in Richmond so I am hopeing it will arrive today, I will need someone to put it together once it arrives. SAILOR BOB !

NO SUNRISE PHOTOS THIS MORNING

Well I was going to get up and take some more sunrise photos this morning but mother nature had a different plan. It is cold, windy, and rainy morning down here in KDH. I am going to be heading back to CH later this morning after I run on my treadmill here at the beach. Speaking of treadmills my new one hasn't come in yet, it might be in monday but i have to call the trucking company to set up an appointment to recieve it. The Virginia basketball team played pretty good up until about the final 8 minutes of there game with Gonzaga last night before falling 80-69, the game was on tv here at the beach I don't know if it was on in Virginia or not. The Riverdogs fell to Rockford last night 5-1 in Illinois, the Dogs retuen home for a wed night game with Elmira. In the Dogs game last night the loon awaited debut of Brendan Tedstone took place and he did get into fight with Robin Big Snake, it wasn't much of a fight, I saw a clip of it on the internet, however Tedstone was cut in the fight, they said the linesman skate clipped his head. After watching the fight he can't skate or stand up on his skates while trying to fight. The Redskins are hosting the Cowboys today in Fed Ex Field, Gary will be making the trip to DC to see the game, the Skins must win to keep there playoff hopes alive. MICKEY

A COLD SUNRISE

It was a pretty nice sunrise this morning here in KDH but it was very cold and the wind was blowing right off the ocean which didn't help. Here are a few photos that I took this morning, the rest can be found at the link below. The Richmond Rivedogs beat the Flint Generals last night in Flint 1-0, tonight the Dogs will will travel to Rockford, IL to play the the Icehogs. The CH Colonials picked up another victory last night knocking off the Dinwiddie Generals 85-72 CD action last night, the Colonials were lead by Kyle Mears with 25 points and Vince White with 24 points. The Colonials are now 3-3 and will trave to Lee Davis on tuesday night. Just a reminder for those need it Christmas is just 8 days away. MICKEY

STARTING TO DRY OUT

Well it has finally stopped raining here in CH after a miserable wet and cold thursday. It rained all day long and it was cold and windy to top it off, today appears to be a nice day though with temps in 50's and it will be a sunny day. The CH girls basketball team defeated Dinwiddie 56-53 last night in CH to improve to 4-1 on the season, it was a very tight game from start to finish. The CH boys team will be at Dinwiddie tonight. The Riverdogs will be back in action tonight against the Flint Generals, it will be homecoming for coach Nichols. I am heading down to the beach for the weekend, I haven't been since mid September, so I will be able to run on my treadmill down there. My new treadmill might come today after all, according to Old Dominions website tracking, it says it will be here today, I will believe it when I see it. There are only 9 days before Christmas. I am hoping the tracking software is messed up because it now appears to be heading in the wrong direction, I have not been pleased with my buying experience at all with this company. The CH Colonials girls basketball team picked up another victory last night defeating Hanover 43-40 in CH, also the JV girls team won 35-34. DAY NOT OFF TO A GOOD START

Well I thought my day was getting off to a good start when I went to Wal-Mart and the had donuts ready, but the I got in the wrong line when I went to checkout. I think I might have got in the line of the worst cashier I have seen in years at Wal-Mart in years. It started as an empoyee was trying to use his employee discount to purchase a tv and she couldn't get it ring up right and that took a good 8-10 minutes to get straight. Then there is only one person in front of me in line and she is returning something because the service desk is closed, she tries about three times to solve the problem before she call for some help, and when the help arrives and gets the problem resolved. I forgot to tell yall all this took place in the express lane or as the call it speedy checkout, it took more than 20 minutes to solve both of these issues. The Riverdogs picked up another victory last night beating Elmira 7-4 at the RC, the Dogs are back at home tonight as they faceoff against the Ft. Wayne Komets. The CH Colonials fell to Petersburg 87-62 last night. My new treadmill is suppose to be on the way now, I called the company last night and they said it was shipped on friday, needless to say I am not happy with them either, it took them more than a week to shipp the treadmill. WHERE IS EVERYBODY AT?

Where is everybody at, it has been awful quite here on the blog for the last few days, is everybody Christmas shopping? The CHHS boys basketball game was last night was postponed because Hanover County schools were closed on tuesday. The UVA basketball team plays again tonight when it steps back out the conference to play Fordham. The weather here in CH looks like it might take another turn for the worst thursday night as they are calling for snow to change to freezing rain with significant iceing possible, lets hope that doesn't happen because there nothing worst than trying to drive on ice. Keith do they not have any computers in Texas, I haven't seen any comments from down there. Just a reminder there only 18 days till Christmas. MICKEY

BLOG AND WEATHER

The blog was down for several hours yesterday, the company that runs the server was doing some work on it, so if you went to Mickey's Place and were not able to get on thats what was wrong. Well we did get a taste of some snow here in CH yesterday but for the most part it was just a very col rain here in CH, western Chesterfield got about 3 inches of snow and areas west of that got more. Chesterfield, Henrico and Hanover schools are all close today. The weather service is also calling for a chance of snow thursday night and friday. The CHHS basketball games were postponed because of the weather yesterday. The Seahawks destroyed the Eagles 42-0 last night on monday night football, the Eagles are done this year. I wrapped all my Christmas presents last night at one time, so everything that I have bought is wrapped also and for good measure I wrapped all of dads also. I hope it warms up a little today so I can get a good run in this afternoon, I was not able to run yesterday because of the bad weather and my new treadmill is not here yet, hopefully it won't be to much longer but I just ordered it friday. Also the annual CH Christmas Parade is tonight, maybe AL will go and take some pictures of the parade. MICKEY

SOME WINTER WEATHER EXPECTED TODAY

There is some winter weather expected today here in CH just one day after the temp reached 65 degrees. We will see a cold rain for the most part today but it will mix or change to sleet and snow later today with a 1 inch possible, this morning the temp 37 and is dropping. The Packers continued there losing ways sunday and the Steelers figured they would also join them, meanwhile the Redskins got back on track defeating the Rams. The UVA basketball team fell to Ga Tech 63-54, the UVA football team will be going to Nashville, Tn for the Music City Bowl against Minnesota. The CHHS basketball teams are back in action toonight with both the girls and boys teams palying Lee Davis, the girls are at hom and the boys are at Lee Davis. I went down and threw some batting practice again sunday and I am already paying for it monday morning, the old arm and shoulder are pretty stiff this morning. I have ordered a new treadmill and it can't get here fast enough, with the weather turning much colder I don't want to run outside in the cold. Keith has gone to Corpus Christi, Texas for two weeks for work. MICKEY

HOKIES LOSE, BULLDOGS AND RIVERDOGS WIN

The VA TECH Hokies took it on the chin last night in the ACC Championship game against FLA ST 27-22 and it wasn't as close as the final score indicated. The Hokies also got very frustrated towards the end of the game when the were whistled for numerous personal foul and unsprtsmanlike conduct penalties, they are the new Miami of college football. The Georgia Bulldogs hammered the LSU Tigers in the SEC Championship game 34-14, the Bulldogs were in control in this one. The Richmond Spiders lost 24-20 yesterday in the quaterfinals of the I-AA playoffs, the Spiders did have a pretty good year. The two high scholl teams from this area both lost yesterday, Stone Bridge 52 Matoaca 12 and Oakton 19 LC Bird 16. The Colonial did win last night in basketball against Hampton Roads Academy, I don't know what the score was though. The Richmond Riverdogs picke up a 4-1 victory over the Elmira Jackals last night at the RC, I have to say Elmira is not a very good hockey team and we play them twice more next weekend. Since the Redskins and Packers are playing so bad I have decided not to say anything else about them this week. Also on monday they are calling for some snow, I will have a update on the snow and the forecast laster today. MICKEY

SOME BIG COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAMES TODAY

There are some big college football games today that could effect the BCS in a big way. The first big game at 1pm has #2Texas against Colorado, 4:30pm #11UCLA against #1USC, at 6pm #13Georgia against #3LSU, at 8pm #5VA Tech against Fla ST. and also today at 2:30pm former CHHS football coach Bobby Ross leads Army against Navy. In the I-AA playoffs at 6pm Furman is playing the Spiders of the University of Richmond, that game can be seen on ESPNU. A couple of local high school teams are in the semi-finals of the state today, both games start at 1pm Oakton is at LC Bird and Matoaca is at Stone Bridge. The CH Colonials lost there opener last night to Trinity 69-50, Vince White led the Colonials with 12 points, the Colonials will Hampton Roads Academy tonight at Trinity. The Richmond Riverdogs lost 2-1 in a shootout at the RC, the Dogs are home again tonight against the Elmira Jackals. I understand Scott was injured wed morning at work when a pallet fell out of his truck when he opened the doors on his trailer, he injured his hand trying to keep the pallet from hitting him in the head. He thought he might have broke some fingers but x-rays proved otherwise, but Dr. Woodfin isn't so sure he didn't break something. MICKEY

The CHHS boys basketball team will open there season tonight against Trinity, they will also play saturday night win or lose at Trinity in the semi or finals of the tip off tournament.
