Andrew Gets Two Hits In Little League Action

Andrew got two hits tonight in Little League action but his team the Astro's didn't fair as well. I don't know what the final score was beacause the scoreboard wasn't working. The Cardinals the team the played really fielded the ball well. Andrews team has three games next week and they are on monday at 6pm, thursday at 6pm, and sat at 2pm. I got back just in time to see the finish of the Busch race, from the highlights it looked like a very wild race. There were several big ones in the race in which Martin Truex Jr won. Maybe Jr can do the same that Martin did today, I think the race sunday also will be a wild one. Well it never did rain today even though it looked like it was going to rain most of the day, after looking at the radar it looks like Knoxville, Ga got some pretty big storms today. MICKEY

Little League Game

I am going to see Andrew's Little League tonight at 6pm weather permitting. It looks like there is alot of rain on the radar but maybe it will miss us for the most part. The Nextel Cup Series is at Talladega this weekend, if Jr is going to win won this is the track for him to do it. It's not looking to good though because Hermie Sadler had a better qualifying run than Jr, and thats not good. I have sent Lee several invites to join the blog but so far he still hasn't signed up, maybe he is mad at us. MICKEY

I don't know in the JV Colonials won or lost yesterday, our reporter from that team has not reported to me or the blog in some time. MICKEY

Andrew's Little League team is off until saturday when the play the Cardinals at 6pm at Ironbridge, Andrew had a single and a triple yesterdays game and the Astros won by 1 run again. I wish Michael would have won the race last night but he just couldn't by Kurt Busch, it was a good night for DEI though. I got back from the beach around 10am this morning. MICKEY

Today's game against Thomas Dale was rained out and maybe rescheduled for monday, I will post for sure when everything is confirmed about that. We are suppose to play L.C. MICKEY

Little League And Riverdogs

I went to see Andrew's Little League game last night and he got one hit and made a couple of good plays but the Astro's lost to the Marlins 9-7. It was a very cool night at Ironbridge Park with temp in the low 50's and a pretty good wind blowing. Andrews next game is wed night 7:30 pm against the Phillies at Ironbridge Park. The Richmond Riverdogs have changed there mind and they have fired Don Martin after all, I couldn't believe they were going to keep him after this past season. All I want to know is why it took so long to do this, hopefuly they will bring someone in here who can get som quality players. MICKEY

Well it looks like it's going to be a nice week weather wise here in CH. They don't even mention a chance of rain thru next friday and thats good because we have three baseball games next week. The weather the beach is another story, yesterday and today the wind has been very strong down there and there has been alot of beach erosion, the wind is suppose to die down some this evening. I am going to see Andrew's game tonight against the Marlins at Ironbridge Park. Lee, Les, Gary, and George need to sign up for the blog so they will be able to leave comments in the comment section, I have sent yall a link from e-blogger to do this. MICKEY

The CH Colonials got another victory today defeating the Meadowbrook Monarchs 14-1 at Meadowbrook. It was a 2-1 game for a few innings before the Colonials broke the game open. The Colonials got HR'S from Jordan Costanada and Geordie Breidenbach and both were 3run HR's. Nathan Anger pitched 5 innings and only allowed one hit. In other cendral district action the Thomas Dale Knights were defeated by Prince George 5-4. I don't know what the score was but the JV Colonials were defeated by Meadowbroook today. Andrews team did win though. Lee are you going to join us? MICKEY

Colonials Take Out Dinwiddie

The CH Colonials defeated the Dinwiddie Generals 11-1 in central district action tonight at Shepherd Stadium. The Colonials had there bats with them tonight as they hit 3HR's in the game and pounded out 14 hits, and the Colonials pithing was also good tonight as Devin Rose pitched a complete game 4 hitter. It was a very rainy night, but I am glad we got this one in. The Colonials improve to 2-1 in the district and 5-3 overall. Also in district play today the TD Knights hammered Petersburg 13-0 and with that improved to 3-0 in the district, the Knights have a district showdown with Prince George thursday. The Colonials will be at Meadowbrook thursday at 6pm to face the Monarchs. It doesn't look good for practice wed, unless the rain stops and we can hit in the cage. MICKEY

Nice Spring Day

It was a nice spring day here in CH with temps in the low 70's, to bad we didn't have a baseball game today. We did have a pretty good practice today though. We are suppose to play Dinwiddie tuesday night 6pm weather permitting, there is a 50 percent chance of rain tuesday. Yesterday's race didn't end the way that I would have liked it too, I just don't care for Gordon that much. Since hockey is over I guess I will either have to go see the R-Braves or to see the Richmond Bandits play, if anybody wants to go see either let me know. MICKEY

Riverdogs Lose Final Game Of The Season

The Richmond Riverdogs ended the season the way they started this season with a loss 3-1 to the Motor City Mechanics. It was not a very exciting game either, not a whole lot scoring or hitting, I think there was just two penalties called the whole game. They did have a pretty good crowd there last in Roanoke with just under 4,000 people and there probably a couple hundred from Richmond. Me and Lee got home about 1:40 am this morning and it was a pretty good trip. They did announce the name of Roanoke's hockey team for next year in the UHL, they will be known as the Roanoke Valley Vipers. The Reds lost another game yesterday so I will not be talking about them any longer on here, I think I jinxed them. MICKEY

Off To Roanoke

Me in Lee will be leaving CH on our way to Roanoke this morning to see the final game of the season for the Riverdogs. Last night in the first game of this two game series in Roanoke the Motor City Mechanics defeated the Riverdogs 2-1, the Mechanics have now won 10 straight games. Also, tonight in Roanoke they will name the team that Roanoke will have in the UHL starting next season. Here is an update from yesterdays JV baseball game, it wasn't good with score Bad Guys 20 Colonials 0, and the Colonials didn't get a hit in the game. Today Andrew has his first Little League baseball game of the season, maybe someone will get some photos from the game and I will put them here on Mickey's Place. The Reds did lose last night in Houston, well I guess they won't go 162-0 after all. MICKEY

Rained Out Again

Today's game with L.C. Bird has been rained out and has been rescheduled for April 22 at Shepherd Stadium. The rain last night is what caused the rainout, it just drizzled a bit a couple of times today here in CH. The drainage system at the stadium leaves alot to be desired. The JV Colonials did play today and I will have an update later on that game. Me and Lee will be going to Roanoke saturday to see the Riverdogs play there last game of the season, it's not to late if anybody else would like to go. There was a bit of an upset in today's pole qualifying with it going to Scottt Riggs. MICKEY

Colonial's Lose 10-0 To Royals

The Colonial Heights Colonials took it on the chin today losing 10-o to the Prince George Royals in 6 innings. We just left to many men in scoring position again, and we did not get any timely hits either. Keith's team the TD Knights beat Hopewell 14-6 and are now 2-0 in district while we fell to 1-1 in the district. The JV Colonials the team which Lee plays on also lost today 5-0 to Prince George. We are suppose to play L.C. Bird friday at 4:30 but it looks like mother nature is going to give us some more rain, so it's not looking good for friday. The Big Red Machine is now 3-0 and are looking good so far, Go Reds. MICKEY

Colonials At Prince George Today

The CH Colonials will be at Prince George tonight at 6pm, the Royals are undefeated and are the defending central district champions. It will be a tough test for CH tonight, and we will need to play much better than we did tuesday. Thomas Dale will play host to Hopewell this afternoon. The Riverdogs got a win last night at the coliseum 5-3 over the Frostbite in there final home game in Richmond, and they looked pretty good last night. The highlight of the night though had to be when coach Don Martin stood at center ice for chuck a puck and let the fans throw them at him. It looks like he will be back again next year, I hope he can find some better playes next year. The weather here in CH was very nice yesterday with highs in the 80's, but it does look like there are some t-storm on tap for today and friday, it also looks like it was another rainy night in Georgia last night. How about the Cincinnati Reds of to a 2-0 start, not bad for the youn Reds. MICKEY

Colonials Get A Victory 11-1

The Colonials got a much needed victory today over the Petersburg Crimson Wave 11-1 in 5 innings. We did not play very well in the victory and we were playing anybody else in the district we prbably would have lost. The only highlight of the game for CH was a Kyle Mears solo HR, we will have to play much better on thursday and friday or we will be in trouble. CH record is now 4-2 overall an 1-0 in the central district, also today Thomas Dale got 1 run victory over Meadowbrook in x-tra innings. MICKEY

Nice Day In The Heights

It may have been the best day of the year so far in CH with the temp's climbing into the mid 70's and not a cloud in the sky, and tuesday is suppose to be even better. We are back on the baseball field tuesday at 4:30 at Shepherd Stadium against the Crimsom Wave of Petersburg, this is our first district game of the year. Keith's team also opens district play tuesday against Meadowbrook at home. It looks like the weather this week will be ok until thursday when there is a chance of rain, and yes we are suppose to play that night. If anybody want's to go see the Riverdogs play this saturday in Roanoke, me and Lee (not Leigh) will be going if anybody else would like to go. Yesterdays race was a pretty wild won, Jr finally had a pretty good race as did E Sadler, and how about Kyle Petty coming home in the 8th spot. Well I will have baseball report sometime tuesday night. MICKEY

It was still cloudy at sunrise for the most part, it has since cleared and is very sunny. I have posted three photos that I took this morning while attempting to get some sunrise photos. Rainy Day At The Beach

Well it was a rainy day for the most part at the beach. It rained very hard in the morning and it did clear off a little bit in the afternoon only to have it rain again in the evening. We got about .75 inches of rain down here today, I guess a rainy day at the beach is better than a sunny day at home. I went to get a haircut this morning only to find out my barber Wayne was gone to Las Vegas again, so I found another place to cut my hair on the bypass. They did a pretty good job but it did cost me an extra $5. We went to Kelly's for supper and it was pretty good, I had the New York Strip Steak. Well I am going give it another shot in morning of getting some sunrise photos, it looks like it might be clear by morning. Well I will probably be back in CH by 3pm sunday if all goes according to plan. MICKEY

Cadets Defeat Colonials 6-4

Baserunning blunders and mental mistakes did CH in today, and some very untimely hitting. The Cadets never trailed in the game and held on for 6-4 victory over CH, there wasn't many positives in this game for CH. Next week we have a pretty busy schedule, tuesday we play Petersburg at home, thursday we at Prince George, and friday we are home against L.C. Bird. I am at he beach and it rained pretty much all the way down here, I hope to get some new sunrise photos either saturday or sunday morning weather permitting. Don't forget to set you clocks foward saturday night. MICKEY

Headed To The Beach

I think I am going to the beach this afternoon for the weekend, I need a haircut and I probably won't be able to go to the beach next weekend. The weather looks like it will be ok at the beach after it rains tonight and in the morning down there. I will have an update on todays baseball game this afternoon or tonight. It looks like the rain this afternoon is in GA this morning and is on our way, looks like they are getting a pretty soaked in Knoxville, GA. Have a nice weekend. MICKEY
